Prayers of the Faithful for October 14 & 15, 2017

Presider:   Let us pray for all who have been called and for all of God’s beloved people.

 

Lector:

For the Church: that we may recognize God’s invitation to life and service and respond generously with dedication and commitment, we pray:

For the grace of openness: that we may welcome and offer hospitality to all who enter our communities, we pray:

For greater trust in the providence of God: that we may be confident of God’s love that will supply for all our needs, we pray:

For all who are suffering from natural disasters, especially those affected by the wildfires in California: that God will give them hope and stir the hearts of many to assist them in their time of need, we pray:

We pray with Bennett Dowe and Dina Palanga and their families, as today, through Baptism, they begin their Christian journey of faith, we pray:

For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers including: Lemmy Decario, Mary Koenig, Lito Sy, Phyllis Rascher, Jean Volkov, may they find comfort in the healing touch of God and by the loving care of family and friends, we pray:

For  all who have died, especially, Audrey Kotula, the mother of Don Kotula, that God will fill them with life and give consolation and peace to those who grieve them, we pray:

 

Presider:  

God who calls us, strengthen us as you have strengthened those who have gone before us. Help us respond more fully to your life-giving invitation. We ask this in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen.


Prayers of the Faithful for October 7 & 8, 2017

Presider:  

We pray now for our many needs and the needs of the whole world.

 

 Lector:

For the Church: that we may be a fruitful garden, producing a harvest rich in justice, compassion, mercy and forgiveness, we pray:

For a deeper relationship with God: that we may not be satisfied with simply using religious words and gestures but always seek to authentically serve God in our words and deeds, we pray:

For a greater respect for human life, particularly for the unborn: that God will open all hearts to the beauty of the gift of life, we pray:

For all who tend the fields and bring food to our tables: that God will strengthen them and protect them in their labors, we pray:

For those who were injured or killed in the Las Vegas shooting, may they and their families find strength and healing in their faith and in the support of compassionate caregivers as they begin to recover from their physical and emotional wounds, we pray:

For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers including: Lemmy Decario, Mary Koenig, Lito Sy, Phyllis Rascher, and Jean Volkov. May they find comfort in the healing touch of God and by the loving care of family and friends, we pray:

For  all who have died, that God will fill them with life and give consolation and peace to those who grieve them, we pray:

 

Presider:  

Loving and nurturing God, we ask for the courage and grace to accept our responsibilities as fruitful people in your vineyard each day of our lives. We ask this in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen.


Prayers of the Faithful for Sept. 30 & Oct. 1, 2017

Presider:   In humble trust, we place our needs before God.

 

Lector:

For the Church: that we may put on the attitude of Christ and empty ourselves into God’s loving care and the service of others, we pray:

For discernment: that the Spirit will give us insight and understanding so that we may discern God’s will and follow the path of life, we pray:

For a healing of our attitudes: that God will free us from the control of pride, selfishness and glory, and help us to serve others with love, patience, and humility, we pray:

For all who serve in difficult and distant places particularly relief workers and members of the military: that God will guide their service and bring them home safely to their families, we pray:

For Peace: that God will touch the hearts and minds of world leaders and help them to dialogue seriously and effectively to resolve disputes, we pray:

For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers including: Bonnie Reichstadt, Madelene McDonald, Noella Carrier, Mary Menke, Ray Hanson, Lemmy Decario, Mary Koenig, Lito Sy. May they find comfort in the healing touch of God and by the loving care of family and friends, we pray:

For  all who have died, that God will fill them with life and give consolation and peace to those who grieve them, we pray:

 

Presider:  

Gracious God, you call us to be faithful in carrying out your divine will. Hear our prayers that one day we might share in the fullness of life you offer those who dwell in your kingdom. We ask this in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen.


Prayers of the Faithful for September 23 & 24, 2017

Presider:   Let us pray now for our own needs and those of one another.

 

Lector:

For the church: that we may experience salvation as God's gift, accept it humbly and share it generously with others, we pray:

For our national leaders: that God will guide them in setting policies that promote life, protect individual’s conscience, and advance the common good, we pray:

For freedom from envy: that we may appreciate the generosity of God in all the gifts and blessings that others and we receive and rejoice with them in God’s bounty, we pray:

For all who are recovering from hurricanes and earthquakes and those working to assist them: that God will give them strength, wisdom, and protect them from harm, we pray:

For our brothers and sisters in Gris Gris: that we may be filled with care and compassionand respond with generous hearts, open hands and a renewed sense of solidarity with all the families and children, we pray:

For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers including: Deborah Ostroot, Bonnie Reichstadt, Madelene McDonald, Noella Carrier, Mary Menke, Ray Hanson. May they find comfort in the healing touch of God and by the loving care of family and friends, we pray:

For  all who have died, that God will fill them with life and give consolation and peace to those who grieve them, we pray:

 

Presider:  

Gracious God, you show us that there is more to life than we can ever imagine. Help us to see with your eyes and treat one another with your love and generosity. We ask this in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen.
