We continue to celebrate the Christmas season with the feast of the Epiphany of the Lord today. The magi represent all the nations. It is the beginning of the process of the manifestation or revelation of Christ in the world.
The ongoing nature of this manifestation is portrayed in an antiphon for this feast: “Three mysteries mark this holy day: today the star leads the Magi to the infant Christ; today water is changed into wine for the wedding feast; today Christ wills to be baptized by John in the river Jordan to bring us salvation.
This ongoing manifestation of Christ continues in our day. It happens every time we experience an epiphany moment, a further revelation of who Christ is for us. When have you experienced this kind of epiphany?
