Happy Easter! We speak and hear these glorious words on this Easter Day. It is indeed a time of joy and renewal. It is so glorious that we take fifty days to celebrate and ponder the meaning of this marvelous mystery in our lives.
“He has been raised; he is not here,” the angel proclaimed to the women who came to the tomb that first Easter morning. They were the first to learn that God had raised up the Christ into the glory of new life. It was the beginning of a new way that Christ is present and active in the lives of believers in any land and in any century.
It is a glorious thing because it also affects us. “If you were raised with Christ, seek what is above,” we hear from the letter to the Colossians Easter morning. In the Opening Prayer we prayed: “Grant, we pray, that we who keep the solemnity of the Lord’s Resurrection may, through the renewal brought by your Spirit, rise up in the light of life.”
On this Easter Day let the eternal God raise you up to a new-found faith, hope, and love. Throughout these fifty Easter days seek what is above, what is lovely, what is of God.
In the name of our entire parish staff I wish you and your loved ones many blessings of peace and joy!
