Prayers of the Faithful for September 7 & 8, 2019

September 6, 2019 By Website Admin

Presider:

On this journey of discipleship, let us ask God’s help for ourselves and for the whole world.

Lector:

For the Church: that all members willingly remain faithful disciples of Jesus, regardless of the cost, we pray:

For a deeper appreciation of all the people who are in our lives: that we may see them with the love that God has for each of them, we pray:

For those who are victims of human trafficking, may they be freed from their captors and receive support in healing and rebuilding lives, we pray:

For peace, particularly in our cities and neighborhoods: that the Spirit will guide every heart to work untiringly to end violence and promote the safety and dignity of each person, we pray:

For those in the Bahamas and the southeastern U.S. whose lives, homes and businesses have been devastated by Hurricane Dorian, may God’s love bring them hope and the strength to endure, we pray:

For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers including, Rosemary Sattler, Charlotte Moran. May God’s healing love touch them and restore them to fullness of life, we pray:

For those who have died especially, Gerry Leonard, the mother of Barb Mayer; Dorothy Shaeffer, the sister of Jerry Simondet. May they rejoice forever in God’s eternal home, we pray:

Presider:

God who is beyond our understanding, we trust that you are with us as we struggle to live as disciples. Be with us as we commit ourselves to follow your Son, Jesus. We ask this through that same Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
