Prayers of the Faithful July 3 & 4, 2021
Presider:
We who are called to respond in faith to Jesus’ prophetic word pray humbly for ourselves, for our neighbors and for the whole world.
Lector:
- For the church, that it may welcome the voices of prophecy wherever and from whomever they come … we pray,
- For our new Pastor, Fr. Denny Dempsey, that God will richly bless him as he leads our faith community, we pray:
- For our nation: that God will guide us in living the values which we proclaim so that all may experience life, liberty, and justice, we pray:
- For greater trust: that God will free us from our past mistakes, strengthen us as we recognize our weaknesses, and open us to God’s power working within us, we pray:
- For the acceptance of others: that God will help us to be open to the stranger and their gifts as they enter our lives so that we may be nurtured and enriched by them, we pray:
- For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers, including Don and Karen Atkinson, Tom Diger, Maria Brass (mother of Marianne Brass), may they find comfort and healing, through God’s love, we pray:
- For those who have died; May God welcome them to new eternal life and ease the loss of those who grieve their passing, we pray:
Presider:
Loving God, you sent Jesus to reveal your love and your will for us. Grant us faith, openness to your word and the courage to share it with others. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
