Prayers of the Faithful July 10 & 11, 2021
Presider:
We are sent to continue Jesus’ ministry; and so we pray for all those he loves here and throughout the whole world.
Lector:
- For the Church: that we may find our identity in our relationship with God instead of in the allurements of possessions, accomplishments, or power, we pray:
- For our companions on the faith journey: that we may be faithful witnesses with our family, friends, co-workers, and fellow parishioners to the work of God in one another’s lives, we pray:
- For the grace to travel lightly: that God will show us how to live the reign of God through vulnerability, reliance on one another, and journeying with Christ
- For wisdom: that God will guide us as we oppose injustices and encounter opposition or rejection for living the Gospel, we pray:
- For our sister parish in Gris Gris and for all Haitians as they face uncertainty, financial hardship, and unrest during this time of political turmoil: that power will be transferred peacefully and that God will call forward leaders that will bring about peace, improve the lives of their citizens, and work for justice, we pray:
- For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers, including Sandy Hartung and Tom Diger, may they find comfort and healing, through God’s love, we pray:
Presider:
Loving God, you have chosen us in Christ Jesus and call us to continue his mission. Help us to live as your holy people and grant us the courage to respond to his call. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
