Prayers of the Faithful September 18 & 19, 2021
Presider:
We who are called to follow Jesus pray now for ourselves, for one another and for the world.
Lector:
- For the Church: that we may be servants of one another, particularly of those in need, and thus bear witness to God’s love for everyone. we pray:
- For the continuing work of Fr. Paul Nguyen on behalf of the Diocese of Diocese of Long Xuyen, that God will continue to bless all missionaries as well as inspire our generosity to help the message and love of our Lord to be made known to the ends of the earth, we pray:
- On this day that we host our own Parish Ministry Fair: for all volunteers, especially those who work with the children of our community, we pray:
- For health, safety and progress during this persisting Covid 19 pandemic; that our actions may mirror Jesus’ teaching to be “servants of all” in our choices regarding precautions, protocols and vaccination, we pray:
- For healing amongst the daughters and sons of Abraham: that God will heal the wounds and misunderstandings, and bring greater cooperation amongst followers of Islam, Judaism, and Christianity, we pray:
- For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers, including Tom Diger and Marge Donofrio May all who suffer be healed by God’s loving touch and by the prayers of this community, we pray:
- For all who have died, may they experience the peace and joy of God’s kingdom, we pray:
Presider:
God who sustains us, we look to you when truth overwhelms us and our courage wavers. Help us to follow in the footsteps of Jesus, especially when they take us where we do not want to go. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen
