Prayers of the Faithful November 6 & 7, 2021
Presider:
Knowing that we need God’s help to be true disciples, let us pray for strength and make our needs known.
Lector:
- For all members of the church, that we generously give of ourselves to God and others wholeheartedly, we pray:
- For newly elected leaders, may they serve those they govern with integrity in the interest of the common good, we pray:
- For widows, widowers and single parents: that they may find encouragement in the Christian Community and receive the support they need to be faithful disciples, we pray:
- For all the clergy and lay persons who have offered support and condolences to Church of the Risen Savior in the aftermath of the death of Fr. Denny; that God bless them for their generous acts as we raise this prayer in heartfelt gratitude, we pray:
- For the success of the Winter Gear Drive, as the temperature drops and need increases, that the Spirit inspire us to give from more than just our surplus, we pray:
- For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers, including Scott Highberg, Tom Diger and David Osterkamp, May all who suffer be healed by God’s loving touch and by the prayers of this community, we pray:
- For those who have died, may they all enjoy the peace of God’s kingdom.
Presider:
Just and compassionate God, you show us that living authentically and generously is more important than achieving places of honor. Help us to give from the depths of our hearts and from our treasure. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
