Prayers of the Faithful – September 10 & 11, 2022
Presider:
Let us pray now for a world in need of God’s justice, love, and mercy.
Lector:
- For the Church: that we may recognize the length and depth of God’s love for us and reach out to all who have become estranged from God or the Christian community, we pray:
- For the grace of repentance: that we may recognize from whom we have wandered and turn towards the Good Shepherd’s outstretched arms of forgiveness, we pray:
- For the grace to forgive: that the love of God will free our hearts to forgive all who have injured us, we pray:
- For all students and teachers in this new school year, that God will fill their hearts with excitement, calm their worries, and bless them with a successful and safe year, we pray:
- For healing of our common home: that God will guide us in purifying the air and cleaning the water so that all may live in healthy environments, we pray:
- For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers including Christine Teresa De La Rosa, Albert Fischer, and Sue Bertram, may they find comfort in God’s love and from the care of their family and friends, we pray:
- We remember those who have died with faith in the resurrection, especially Queen Elizabeth II, monarch of England; may they rejoice forever in God’s eternal home, we pray:
Presider:
God of endless mercy, you have offered your love to us again and again. We pray for the humility to recognize when we are in need of your mercy and for the generosity to welcome your mercy toward others. We ask this through that same Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
