Sometimes it might feel like Lent is part of the same old routine, but each Lenten Season, God invites us to something new! The pillars remain the same but their meaning may evolve or deepen as our lives change.
This Lent, you’re invited to join in one or more of the following ways to connect anew to Lent.
Fasting: Making Room for God to Work in and through You
What: Mike Rios-Keating, Social Justice Education Manager at Catholic Charities of St. Paul & Minneapolis, will present on how fasting is more than “giving up chocolate.” The fasting God asks of us is meant to be in service of the poor and the needy. Fasting prepares us for the joy of the Resurrection and the promise it holds for the kingdom of God where justice reigns, bellies are full, and peace prevails.

Almsgiving: Joining Hands in Loving Service to Others
Almsgiving means donating resources to the poor and practicing the works of mercy and acts of justice. In addition to many regular opportunities to serve, this Lent we have a few special projects, too! These are not only opportunities for almsgiving but also for parish integration and getting to know one another across cultures by joining hands in service.
