Prayers of the Faithful – February 25 & 26, 2023
Presider:
Let us pray for ourselves and for all who are confronted by temptation.
Reader:
- For the Church: that the Spirit will deepen our identity as daughters and sons of God, inspire us on our Lenten journey, and help us to live as faithful disciples, we pray:
- For one another: that the prayer, fasting, and almsgiving of Lent may bring forth a new springtime of faith in our lives, we pray:
- For all who are alienated from the Church: that God will touch their hearts and lead them to a renewal of faith and a reconnection with the community of faith, we pray:
- For all who must fast every day: that our fasting may make us more aware of the homeless, refugees, and those recovering from natural disasters and our hearts more generous toward them, we pray:
- For all impacted by the invasion of Ukraine, may God welcome the souls of those killed, protect the homes and families of those trying to survive, and help bring a peaceful and just conclusion to this incursion, we pray:
- For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers including, William Blow, and Maureen Guion. May they find comfort in God’s love and from the care of their family and friends, we pray:
- We pray for our Beloved Dead: Mary Matthys, Donna Woodward, Lynn Larson, Jim Coleman, Jim Gaffke Vincent Vik, Hilary Berczyk, Bonnie Ganfield, Richard Breiter, Donald Ferry, Sharon Jirik, and Albert Fischer, as well as for those who have died more recently especially Doreen Martin. May all who have died find joy in the resurrection, we pray:
Presider:
O God who is present to us even when we are tempted to be unfaithful, keep us faithful to your ways that one day we might enjoy everlasting life with you. Grant this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
