Prayers of the Faithful – May 27 & 28, 2023

Presider:

On the Feast of Pentecost, let us pray that the fires of the Spirit’s love will rest upon us.\

Reader:

• For the Church: that we may faithfully confess Jesus as Lord and be guided by the Holy Spirit to continue the mission of Christ in our time, we pray:
• For fuller utilization of the Gifts of the Spirit: that God will help us recognize and put into practice all the gifts which we have been given so that the Body of Christ may be strong in serving the reign of God, we pray:
• For a Spirit of love: that we may fulfill Christ’s command to love one another by placing our time, energy, and gifts at the service of others and helping them to carry their daily burdens, we pray:
• For a Spirit of justice: that the needy, exploited, abused, and victims of war may know freedom, relief from oppression, and their dignity as daughters and sons of God, we pray:
• For all veterans who have served our nation: that those living will know our gratitude, and those who have died will be welcomed by God into the company of the saints, we pray:
• That those who are ill and have asked for our prayers, find healing, including: Grace Koleczek (pr. Cola-check), Kathy Fastner, Douglas Solberg, Gordon Johnson and Michelle Groff, we pray:
• Today, we pray for our Beloved Dead, including Irene Cooper, Adam Smith, John Koleczek, andMary Theleman.  We also pray for show who have died more recently, especially Loretta Kelly.  May all who have died be forever held in the loving arms of God, we pray:

Presider:

Loving God, fill us with your spirit as you fill us with your life. Give us breath to praise you to the ends of the earth. We pray this through Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives, and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.

Prayers of the Faithful – May 20 & 21, 2023

Presider:

As we reflect on our responsibility to assume the work of the disciples, we pray for ourselves, for our neighbors and for the whole world.

Reader:

• For the Church: that, empowered by the Spirit, we may faithfully give witness to the Gospel and continue Christ’s mission of bringing hope and healing to those in need, we pray:
• For all who spread the Good News: that God will inspire evangelists, missionaries, preachers, composers, and writers to dynamically announce God’s abiding presence and untiring love for all, we pray:
• For all students as they finish the school year: that God will protect them through the summer and help them to develop all their talents and abilities, we pray:
• For all who are fearful or anxious: that they may recognize God’s message, “Fear not”, is for them and allow God to calm their spirits and give them hope, we pray:
• For Hendrixx Todd Spiegel and Zachary Douglas Williams, who receive the sacrament of Baptism this morning, and for their family, that they may continue to grow in faith and that our parish continue to nurture their faith., we pray:
• That those who are ill and have asked for our prayers, find healing, including: Loretta Kelly, Cameron Howard Wendell, Grace Koleczek, Kathy Fastner, Douglas Solberg, and Michelle Groff, we pray:
• For those who have died, especially Jerry Zimmeth and David Thompson.  May all who have died be forever held in the loving arms of God, we pray:

Gracious God, you sent your Son among us to show us the way to you. Grant us all that we need to continue to work in his name, so that all creatures may be one in you. We ask this in Jesus’ name, who lives with you forever and ever. Amen.

Prayers of the Faithful                                       May 13 & 14, 2023

Presider:

Our Lord Jesus promised us that God would send us the Holy Spirit to guide us and to speak for us as we pray for the needs of the world.

Reader:

• For the Church: that we may grow in our awareness that Christ is in us and see the hand of God in the people, the events in our lives and in the created world around us, we pray:
• For the renewal of God’s Spirit in our hearts: that God will stir up into a flame the gift of the Spirit so that we may build up the Body of Christ and bring forth God’s reign in the world, we pray:
• For all mothers and for those who have shown us a mother’s love: that God will bless them with health, happiness, and peace of heart, we pray:
• For greater respect for God’s creation: that we may recognize our interdependence with the created world and work to preserve the balance in nature that God has established,  we pray:
• That those who are ill and have asked for our prayers, find healing, including Loretta Kelly, Cameron Howard Wendell, Grace Koleczek), Kathy Fastner, Douglas Solberg, and Michelle Groff, we pray:
• For those who have died, especially Peter Hayes, brother of Kathy Fastner, and Richard Ulrich, brother of Taum Ulrich. May all who have died be forever held in the loving arms of God, we pray:

Good and gracious God, your Holy Spirit speaks for us. Grant what our Advocate inspires us to ask for in the name of Jesus, the Risen Christ our Lord.

Prayers of the Faithful – April 22 & 23, 2023

Presider:

Let us pray for the world that needs the presence of the Risen Christ.

Reader:

• For the church: that the freedom brought by the Resurrection may enable us to live with purpose and help others to forsake the fruitless pursuits of power, fame, and wealth, we pray:
• For wisdom: that as we bring our lives, experiences, and relationships to the Eucharist each week, the Scriptures may help us recognize that Christ is with us in every aspect of life, we pray:
• That we who participate in this Eucharist, offering God the gifts that earth has given and human hands have made, may be ready and willing to respond to God’s word that calls us to  respect and care for God’s creation, we pray:
•  For all who are on significant journeys, for missionaries, pilgrims, aid workers and members of the military: that God will protect them from harm, lead them safely to their destination, and help them be aware of God’s presence with them, we pray:
• That those who are ill and have asked for our prayers, find healing, including: Michelle Groff, Cameron Howard Wendell, Mary Edwards, and Linda Kozak, we pray:
• That all who mourn the death of a loved one find comfort in the joy of Jesus’ resurrection, especially Adam Smith, nephew of Jann Shaffer, and John Koleczek, great uncle of Grace Kolaczek; we pray:

Presider:

God of abundance: We are grateful for this Eucharistic feast in which Jesus is made known to us. Open our hearts to Christ’s ongoing presence among us. We pray this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

We have not seen but still believe. With confident faith, we bring our concerns before God.

Reader: 

• For the Church: that we may offer faithful witness to Christ by being united in mind and spirit as we worship, study and serve the needs of others, we pray:
• For all who struggle with faith: that the Word of God may open them to a relationship with God and enlighten their path to fuller life, we pray:
• For the grace to forgive: that flowing from God’s forgiveness of us, we may forgive those who have harmed or wronged us, we pray:
• For the poor, hungry, and neglected all over the world: that their cries for daily bread may inspire works of compassion and mercy among those to whom much has been given, we pray:
• For those impacted by the shooting in Louisville, KY this past week; that God will receive the souls of those killed, pour out healing grace on the injured, and console those who are anxious or afraid, we pray:
• That those who are ill and have asked for our prayers, find healing, including: Barbara Skierecki (pr. SKRES-key), and Linda Kozak, we pray:
• That all who mourn the death of a loved one find comfort in the joy of Jesus’ resurrection, especially; we pray:

Generous God, plant your precious gift of faith ever deeper in our hearts. All that we ask, we ask in the name of Jesus, our Risen Lord.
