Prayers of the Faithful

Prayers of the Faithful for August 12 & 13, 2017

August 11, 2017 By Website Admin

Presider:

Let us pray to be open to God’s call, however it comes to us.

Lector:

For the Church: that we may recognize God’s presence in both the extraordinary moments and in the quiet ordinary events of our lives, we pray:

For grace of deeper trust in God: that we may surrender our fears to God who makes all things work for the good and who is always with us, we pray:

For a growth in faith: that we may keep Christ as the center of our attention and never tire of calling out for God’s saving help when challenges arise, we pray:

For freedom from fear: that we may hear the voice of Christ calling us to “not be afraid” and confidently move forward each day, we pary:

For all who are separated from loved ones, particularly members of the military: that they will find strength in Christ who makes us all one, we pray:

For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers including, Poli Hernandez, Anthony Theisen, and Matt Hoscheit  . May they find comfort in the healing touch of God and by the loving care of family and friends, we pray:

For  all who have died, may they be forever held in the loving arms of God, we pray:

 Presider:

Gracious God, you have loved your people unconditionally and called us in countless and surprising ways. Open our eyes and ears, hearts and minds to the gifts you have prepared for us. We ask this in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Prayers of the Faithful for August 5 & 6, 2017

August 4, 2017 By Website Admin

Presider:

Glimpsing the glory of God, we humbly present our petitions.

Lector:

That all those in leadership positions in the church may be the visible presence of the transfigured Jesus, we pray:

That the community of the baptized transform the world through their radiant faith, we pray:

That lands ravaged by war, especially in Iraq and the Middle East, be transfigured by lasting peace, we pray:

That those who are discouraged, hesitant to journey forward in life, or lost on the way may be strengthened by those who shine with the glory of the risen Jesus, we pray:

That all who gather at this table find the Lord’s glory in word, in Eucharist, and in one another, we pray:

That those who are ill and have asked for our prayers including, Poli Hernandez,  find comfort in the healing touch of God and by the loving care of family and friends, we pray:

That all who have died be waken to new life and those who grieve be comforted, we pray:

Presider:

All-powerful God, you work wonders in the world. Look into our hearts and give us what we need. We ask this in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Prayers of the Faithful for July 29 & 30, 2017

July 27, 2017 By Website Admin

Presider:

Let us pray now for all who seek a world that is good, peaceful and loving.

Lector:

For the Church: that we may experience deep joy in finding Christ who fulfills all the longings of our heart, we pray:

For the grace to trust: that we may rely upon God’s generous love to sustain us and bring good out of all the experiences of our life, we pray:

For all who are seeking, wandering, or fleeing: that God will open new doors for them where they can find meaning, purpose, and acceptance, we pray:

For all who are engaged in evangelization and outreach: that they may cast a wide net through offering hospitality and dynamic witness to the Good News to all whom they encounter, we pray:

For the grace to let go: that we may surrender our old ways, have strength to endure the transition, and receive the new beginnings that God offers us, we pray:

For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers including, Tom Diger.  May they find comfort in the healing touch of God and by the loving care of family and friends, we pray:

For all who mourn the death of a loved one, especially Warren Johnson, the husband of Diane Johnson, and Jodi Bjellum, the daughter of Kathy Zelmer. May all who have died be forever held in the loving arms of God, we pray:

Presider:

God who offers us a fruitful harvest, we pray for the wisdom and courage to look beyond life’s daily distractions and false hopes. Give us eyes that can see and hearts that are open to all that you have promised. We ask this in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Prayers of the Faithful for July 22 & 23, 2017

July 22, 2017 By Website Admin

Presider:

We present our needs to a life-giving God who always hears us.

Lector:

For the church: may we clearly proclaim God’s loving invitation to all people, we pray:

For a deepening of prayer: that we may courageously wait in silence for the Spirit to make intercession through us, we pray:

For the grace of patience: that we may defer judgment on those things that are unclear and await insight from God to make wise choices, we pray:

For the gift of humility: that we may recognize our strengths, abilities and opportunities as gifts from God and be open to God’s invitations to serve each day, we pray:

For all who are gathered here: that we may be a source of compassion and hospitality in our society for all who turn to us, we pray;

For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers including, Tom Diger.  May they find comfort in the healing touch of God and by the loving care of family and friends, we pray:

For all who mourn the death of a loved one, especially Patricia Dudley, mother of Dan Dudley. May all who have died be forever held in the loving arms of God, we pray:

 Presider:

Lord, you sent your Son to teach us how to live. Hear our prayers that one day we might be judged worthy to share everlasting life with you. We ask this in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Prayers of the Faithful for July 15 & 16, 2017

July 14, 2017 By Website Admin

Presider:

We who have received God’s mercy humbly ask for the needs of the church and the world.

Lector:

For the Church: that we may spread the hope, joy, and vitality of the Good News with great generosity so that all may experience the compassionate mercy of God, we pray:

For a greater love for the Word of God: that we may find quiet in our lives to allow the Word of God to challenge and prune us so that we may bear abundant fruit, we pray:

For all who spread the Word of God, for preachers, teachers, parents, and writers: that they may announce God’s loving compassion faithfully and convincingly so that others may encounter the living God, we pray:

For inspiration and vision: that God will sustain us and guide us through the hardships and difficult decisions that we face along life’s journey, we pray:

For a calming of the restlessness in our hearts: that we may find fulfillment of our deepest longings in the embrace of God, we pray:

For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers including Richard Sexton and Tom Diger. May all who suffer find comfort and healing by God’s power and by the prayers of this community, we pray:

For those who have died, especially Lyle Zinniel, the brother of Mary Zimmeth; Norris Melander, the father of Julie Crippes; and for those who are grieving the passing of someone dear to them, we pray:

Presider:

Loving God, hear our prayers this day and bless us as we strive to live as disciples, faithful to your word. We ask this in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen.
