Lift Up Your Hearts!: Living Inside of Hope Women’s Retreat

Registration for this event closed Monday, Mar. 13th at 12pm.
“The very least you can do in your life is to figure out what to hope for. And the most you can do is live inside that hope.” –author Barbara Kingsolver
In our troubled world, many forces threaten our hope, which is so vital to our well-being. With it so much is possible, without it so little is. Some people have to struggle for their hope, while others seem to have it so easily.
Our faith and sense of meaning and purpose send us out into the world; hope keeps us there! At its core hope is the sense of a way forward, of possibility, even in trouble or despair. Hope is related to help, it is strengthened in community, buoyed by creativity and imagination, undergirded by faith, and it can even be borrowed, if necessary.
In this retreat you will have the opportunity to:
-listen to your life,
-reflect on the nature of hope, and its patterns in your own life,
-connect with others,
-and come away inspired and uplifted.
Our retreat is facilitated by Julie Neraas, an ordained Presbyterian clergywoman, spiritual director, former professor, and author of Apprenticed to Hope, Seeing the Sacred, and Hope and Poetry: How They Sustain Us.
