LENTEN SCRIPTURE SERIES 2019:
DELVING INTO THE GOSPEL OF JOHN
5 SESSION SERIES
TUESDAY EVENINGS (6:30-8:30 PM) BEGINNING MARCH 12, 2019
During the season of Lent, our pastor, Fr. Tom Krenik, will lead a Bible study series on the Gospel of John. Participants will explore the uniqueness of this fourth gospel in the New Testament. It is highly literary and symbolic. The text is more theological and mystical than the synoptic gospels (Matthew, Mark, and Luke). John uses the term “signs” instead of “miracles.” Jesus has several “I am” statements. A mysterious beloved disciple regularly appears in this gospel. Participants will gain a deeper appreciation for some of the deeper revelations of the person of Jesus Christ and will find practical applications to their lives.
This series will meet for five consecutive Tuesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. beginning on March 12th and concluding on April 9th. The cost to participate is $25.00, which includes a copy of the New Collegeville Bible Commentary: Gospel of John.
