RENEW’s Living in the Sacred Small Faith Sharing Community
Tuesday Mornings from 10:00-11:30 a.m. beginning October 10th
Fr. Rolheiser, OMI, describes three stages of discipleship:
Getting your life together
Giving your life away
Giving your death away
Living in the Sacred takes participants on a deep spiritual journey exploring this second stage of discipleship. Having moved through the “getting your life together” stage, participants have made life commitments either in marriage or other relationships, child raising, to sick or elderly parents or other relatives, careers, or communities, Living in the Sacred is about how we stay true to these commitments as disciples of Christ. We have only a couple of spots remaining in our group, so please contact Scott Brazil ASAP to learn more.
What is Living in the Sacred?
·Living in the Sacred: Spirituality for Everyday Life is a twelve session process of spiritual and pastoral renewal.
·Living in the Sacred: Spirituality for Everyday Life is a faith sharing companion to Fr. Ronald Rolheiser’s most recent book, Sacred Fire.
How will Living in the Sacred: Spirituality for Everyday Life help our parishioners? Longing for the Holy enables people to:
·Deepen their faith.
·Develop a closer relationship with Christ.
·Grow in community.
·Name the essentials of our spirituality and integrate them more into our lives.
If you are interested in being a part of our Tuesday Morning Small Faith Sharing Community, fill out the form below and we will contact you.

· Time for reflection and discussion.

There is no cost to participate, though a free will offering will be made available to contribute to. Contact Scott Brazil for more information and/or to R.S.V.P. for the event.
We are excited to offer an opportunity to share the practice of Centering Prayer with new participants, as well as assist current practitioners with deepening their current practice. We will be utilizing a DVD-series from Contemplative Outreach that features Fr. Thomas Keating!
The format of the gatherings will include two twenty-minute Centering prayer sessions, the viewing of a 15-20 minutes DVD clip, and in-depth discussion and faith sharing. Participants can choose to engage in all, or just part, of any or all gatherings. No registration is required. Contact Scott Brazil for more information.
Wednesday Morning Communal Centering Prayer
Every Wednesday from 9:30-10:00 a.m. in the Chapel
All are invited to join us for a communal experience of Centering Prayer, during which we sit "alone together" for a period of 20 minutes. Those who have never experienced this form of prayer are encouraged to join us, as we will take time to explain the basics of the method before beginning, as well as answer any questions you may have.
Centering Prayeris a receptive, deep method of silent prayer that prepares us to receive the gift of contemplative prayer, prayer in which we experience God's presence within us, closer than breathing, closer than thinking, closer than consciousness itself. This method of prayer is both a relationship with God and a discipline to foster that relationship.
Registration is as simple as filling out the form at the bottom of this webpage, or you can also contact Scott Brazil.
The Risen Savior Adult Faith Formation Committee, guided by the Holy Spirit and the Risen Savior Mission Statement, provides a vibrant, nourishing, spiritual environment where all adults in our diverse parish community can grow in faith, make the Gospel a relevant and shared part of their daily lives, and participate as modern day disciples of Jesus in all areas of life.
To invite and welcome all adults to encounter Jesus in the fullness of our Catholic faith.
To foster Gospel values in our parish so that our faith will have an impact on every family, as it is considered the “domestic church,” and in our community in general.
To nourish and enrich our adults to continue their faith and spiritual formation, and to live their faith through prayer, study, and action.
To encourage and develop enthusiasm for personal faith among our adult parishioners so that they may desire to share it in their families and with others.
New members are welcome! To learn more, lease contact Scott Brazil or fill out the form at the bottom of this page.
Alpha is a series of sessions that helps participants explore the Christian faith. Each session looks at a different question around faith from a Catholic context and is designed to create conversation. A typical gathering will include gathering for a simple meal, viewing an engaging and thought-provoking video, and small group discussion time to reflect and process how the day’s question pertains to your spiritual journey.
Did you miss our first two sessions? No worries, as you can still join us for our gathering on October 2nd! We will gather for a simple meal, view an engaging and thought-provoking video that focuses on the question, “Why Did Jesus Die?”, and small group discussion time to reflect on and process how that question pertains to your spiritual journey.
Fill out the online form below to R.S.V.P. for the October 2nd event (only if you did not attend one of the previous gatherings).
Frequently Asked Questions:
What type of commitment must I make? We invite everyone to participate in any or all of our first three sessions on September 18th, September 25th, and October 2nd. If you find that Alpha is not for you, you are not obligated to participate in the future. But we are certain you will find something good in our session and will WANT to come back the next week, the week after that, etc.
Via engaging DVD presentations, Jeff Cavins and Thomas Smith highlight the practical guidance we can gain from the books referred to as the “wisdom literature” of the Bible. Through Proverbs, Wisdom, Sirach, and Ecclesiastes, Scripture provides insight into living wisely in all areas of our lives.
