JustFaith is a program of JustFaith Ministries that invites participants to live more simply and compassionately, and to respond to the needs of the world. This small group program helps participants explore today’s issues through the lens of their Catholic faith, engage in dialogue around those issues, and formulate a personal/group response.
Registration for the Fall 2019 group is now closed. Please pray for all those participating in the program as well as for guest speakers and those we will meet through immersion experiences along the way! If you are interested in learning about future JustFaith offerings, please contact Grace Koleczek.
The group is facilitated by Grace Koleczek, Adult Faith Formation and Social Justice Coordinator, using materials provided upon registration. There are opportunities for participants to be co-facilitators.
JustFaith includes twenty-four 2 ½-hour sessions, broken into three phases of eight sessions. Each phase also includes a retreat day and an immersion day, where the group goes out into the community to learn from local people affected by injustice or marginalization. All sessions include prayer, dialogue, active listening, and relationship-building. Some sessions also include videos and/or guest speakers.
Participants deepen their understanding through in-depth reading of several books and viewing a number of DVDs and online materials. The most essential resource is the community formed through the JustFaith process.
To broaden perspectives, each of the 3 phases include an immersion where participants visit local organizations to learn from the stories of those living and working on the margins of society.
We are excited to announce that, thanks to a generous grant from the Catholic Community Foundation, we will be able to offer this program and all of the associated materials free of charge to parishioners who have not yet experienced the JustFaith program!
