Risen Savior high school age youth have many options to be involved in fun, life giving events and and leadership positions. We have had a mission trip for grades 10-12 for the last eleven years where students go to serve in an underprivileged community by running a kids club and fixing up houses. Many senior high youth are leaders in the Summer Stretch program where they lead the junior high youth during service projects around our community.
We provide opportunities for youth to grow in their faith by going on several different retreats each year. Youth in the Confirmation program are required to attend one of two retreats geared towards them but anyone in grades 9-12 can also go on it. So, a Confirmation youth could bring a friend along who doesn’t go to our church if they wanted to.
There is a special retreat just for 9th graders that the older youth plan and host to help welcome the 9th graders into the high school program. Any youth who have been on a retreat can serve as an SLT (Servant Leadership Team) if they want to serve in that way. Many of our youth have found the SLT to be a very rewarding way to go on retreat.
There is a once a week worship service for high school youth that we call Sanctuary. We have a musician lead worship followed by some teaching or prayer service by the SWAT Team.
