Prayers of the Faithful for November 18 & 19, 2017

Presider:  

We now make our needs known to God who has entrusted to us the saving work of Jesus.

 

Lector: 

That all members of the church be aware of the gifts of faith, time and opportunity that God has entrusted to us, we pray:

That God will inspire us with new visions of how to use our gifts and meet the greatest needs of the world around us, we pray:

That God will free us from fear and help us to live life to the fullest, we pray:

That those who lack the basic necessities of life receive what they need from those who have been given an abundance, we pray:

That those traveling this week for the Thanksgiving holiday have safe journeys, and are renewed by spending time with family and friends, we pray:

That those who are ill and have asked for our prayers including: Debbie Adams and  James Jarrard. May they find comfort in the healing touch of God and by the loving care of family and friends, we pray:

That those who have died, especially Richard Sexton the husband of Joan Carroll, be forever held in the loving arms of God, and for all whose names have been inscribed in our Book of the Dead, and for those grieving the passing of a loved-one, we pray:

 

Presider:  

Generous God, you are the giver of all that we have. Give us the vision, courage, and strength to use our gifts to benefit others. We ask this in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen.


Prayers of the Faithful for November 11 & 12, 2017

Presider:     

Let us pray for wisdom and vision as we look to what lies ahead.

 

Lector: 

For the Church: that we may have a spirit of readiness so that we can respond to God’s presence and invitations at any moment, we pray:

For the grace to live in the here and now: that we may not be consumed by the endless things that need to be done tomorrow, nor trapped by the events of yesterday and forget the gift of today, we pray:

For all who have experienced violence, especially those in Sutherland Springs, Texas: that God will be a sustaining presence for them and heal their pain, we pray:

For the poor, the refugees and the malnourished: that God will open supplies for them and open our hearts to the needs of all our suffering sisters and brothers, we pray:

On this Veteran’s Day we pray for all those who have protected our nation, for the men and women in uniform: may they enjoy rest and be blest with health and peace, we pray:

For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers including: Debbie Adams, James Jarrard.  May they find comfort in the healing touch of God and by the loving care of family and friends, we pray:

For those who have died, may God lead them into eternal light and peace, we pray:

 

Presider:  

God of the past, present and future, we ask you to help us look with courage at what lies ahead. Give us the wisdom to live each day as if it were our last. Grant us courage to trust in what is yet to come. We ask this in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen.


Prayers of the Faithful for November 4 & 5, 2017

Presider:   Let us pray to God who sent us the divine Son as teacher and master.

 

Lector: 

For the Church: that we make God central in our lives and allow our hearts to be formed by Christ our Teacher, we pray:

For all who exercise authority and leadership: that they may never place unreasonable burdens on those whom they serve, we pray:

For the grace of humility: that we may relate with one another as companions on the journey and strive to compassionately serve the needs of one another, we pray:

For the victims of terrorism, may God comfort their families and strengthen those who work for peace, we pray: 

For all who are grieving: that God will wipe away their tears and console them with God’s presence, we pray:

For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers including: Marcia Anderson, Ray Hanson, Debbie Adams. May they find comfort in the healing touch of God and by the loving care of family and friends, we pray:

For those who have died, that God will fill them with life and give consolation and peace to those who grieve them, we pray:

 

Presider:  

God our Father, you sent your Son to teach us how to live. Hear our prayers that we may faithfully take up his humble service and one day share in his exaltation. We ask this in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen.


Prayers of the Faithful for October 28 & 29, 2017

Presider:   Confident of God’s abiding love for us, we now make our needs known so that we can love with all our hearts.

 

Lector:

For the church and all Christians: that we may be faithful to the great commandments, we pray:

For patient peacemakers and negotiators, for compassionate leaders and honest lawmakers, we pray:

For the grace to love: that we may love God with all our heart, soul, and mind and love our neighbors as ourselves, we pray:

For an evangelizing spirit: that our faith may shine forth and be an invitation to others to come to know the God who made them and loves them, we pray:

For those in this community who most need our love; and for a renewed commitment to our parish ministries by giving of our time, talent, and treasure, we pray:

For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers including: Marcia Anderson and Ray Hanson; may they find comfort in the healing touch of God and by the loving care of family and friends, we pray:

For  all who have died, that God will fill them with life and give consolation and peace to those who grieve them, we pray:

 

Presider:  

Almighty God, you love us beyond compare and call us to love one another. Hear our prayers that one day we might live eternally in your love. We ask this in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen.


Prayers of the Faithful for October 21 & 22, 2017

Presider:   Let us pray that we live with undivided hearts, giving God what belongs to God.

 

Lector:

For the Church: that we may manifest each day the work of faith, the labor of love, and the endurance of hope that is ours as God’s people, we pray:

For leaders of nations, that that they work diligently to overcome the divisions that bring harm and destruction to the world, we pray:

For all God’s people: that formed in the image and likeness of God, we will manifest God’s presence in our workplaces, our families, and our society, we pray:

For those going on the mission trip to Haiti: may your fruitful work bring God’s blessing on the people you care for and may you return safely home, we pray:

For all recovering from storms and wildfires: that God will give them strength, open a new vision for rebuilding their lives, and find the support and companionship which they need, we pray:

For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers including: Jean Volkov, Marcia Anderson, Ray Hanson, Lynnette Kluver, and Howard Hufnagle . May they find comfort in the healing touch of God and by the loving care of family and friends, we pray:

For  all who have died, that God will fill them with life and give consolation and peace to those who grieve them, we pray:

 

Presider:  

Gracious God, you call us to put on the heart of your divine Son. Hear our prayers that all divisions among us might be healed and one day we will share eternally in the fullness of your kingdom. We ask this in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen.
