2018 Youth Mission Trip Pictures

Here is a photo gallery of pictures we have compiled from the Youth Mission Trip to Arkansas in July 2018. Thank you all for praying and donating to support youth serving on missions. Keep an eye out for reflections from the young people who went on the trip. We'll have those posted soon. 


Prayers of the Faithful for August 18 & 19, 2018

Presider:  

We place our needs before God, mindful that God nourishes us and strengthens us with the living Bread come down from heaven.

 

Lector:

For the Church: that we who eat the living bread and drink from the chalice of life may truly share in the fullness of life and be raised up on the last day, we pray:

For the end of sexual abuse within society and the Church, and for healing and justice for victims, we pray:

For unity among Christians: that all who bear the name Christian will work toward healing the wounds of the Body of Christ and sharing common worship, we pray:

For those  who are hungry either physically or spiritually, may they be fed through our generosity and presence, we pray:

For all of us who are nourished by the Eucharist, may we come to a deeper appreciation for who the risen Christ is for us and who we are for him, we pray:

For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers, including Randy Bedard. May God strengthen them, renew them, and fill them with healing, we pray:

For those who have died, may they share in the heavenly banquet and experience the peace and joy of God’s kingdom, we pray:

 

 Presider:

Wondrous God, you give us the gift of your Son’s Body and Blood: hear these prayers and bring us to the fullness of eternal Life, We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

 


Prayers of the Faithful for August 11 & 12, 2018

Presider:  

Let us pray now for all those who hope for life: for ourselves, for our friends and neighbors, and for people throughout the world.

 

Lector:

For all members of the Church, may they believe ever more firmly and live ever more fully the mystery of Jesus who gives himself to us as the Bread of Life, we pray:

For world leaders: that the Holy Spirit will guide them in promoting justice and understanding so that poverty and discrimination may be reduced, we pray:

For those who are hungry. May they have their needs satisfied and may we strive to feed the poor, the homeless, the immigrant in our midst, we pray:

For a transformation of our minds and hearts: that God will free us from all bitterness and anger as we allow ourselves to be guided by the Holy Spirit each day, we pray:

For all who gather to partake of the Eucharist, may we be reconciled to one another in God’s grace, we pray:

For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers, including Kristina Helgado, Randy Bedard, May they find comfort and healing, through God’s love, we pray:

For those who have died, may they share in the heavenly banquet and experience the peace and joy of God’s kingdom, we pray:

 

 Presider:

God of life: you give us your Son as living bread, that we may have life with you forever. Hear our prayers for our own needs, for all who are hungry and for all who yearn for life. We pray in the name of your Son, Jesus, the bread of life. Amen.


Prayers of the Faithful for August 4 & 5, 2018

Presider:  

God gives the gift of Jesus to be the Bread of Life, nourishing and sustaining us. And so we pray:

 

Lector:

That all members of the church come to a deeper understanding of Jesus’ gift of himself to us as the Bread of Life, we pray:

That all people of the world be nourished as they seek fuller life, we pray:

That those who lack the basic necessities of life receive from those who have been given the Bread of Life, we pray:

That parishioners of Risen Savior will seek to help those who are hungry through outreach programs such as Loaves and Fishes, Food on the First, and Feed My Sheep, we pray:

That all of us here seek Jesus with all our hearts and make known to others his gift of presence and nourishment, we pray:

That those who are ill and have asked for our prayers, including Tony Donofrio, Kristina Holgado, find comfort and healing, through God’s love, we pray:

That those who have died, especially, Norynne Schiminsky, experience the peace and joy of God’s kingdom, we pray:

 

Presider:

God of blessings, you send bread from heaven so that we might have eternal life: give us this bread always. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.


Prayers of the Faithful for July 28 & 29, 2018

Presider:  

My friends, we who have gathered here to be fed in this Eucharist remember and pray for all who need to be nourished in any way.

 

Lector:

For the Church: that it may grow in its identity as a Eucharistic people, we pray:

For all who endure hunger each day, particularly orphans, immigrants, and the marginalized: that God will open avenues for food to reach them and help our hearts to be more sensitive to their needs and more aware of our abundance, we pray:

That the Yarumal Missionaries, and all those who spread the Gospel, receive adequate resources for comforting the suffering and feeding the hungry, we pray:

For all who bring food to our table each day, for farmers, harvesters, transporters, grocers, and cooks: that God will bless them abundantly and renew their life and wellbeing, we pray:

For care and protection of the environment that provides food for the whole world, we pray:

For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers, including, Don Atkinson, Randy Bedard, Tony Donofrio, Kristina Holgado.  May they find comfort and healing, through God’s love, we pray:

For those who have died, especially Stan McNamara, the husband of Linda McNamara; and for all who mourn their passing, we pray:

 

Presider:

God of power and promise, you feed us at the Eucharistic table and call us to be mindful of all who are hungry. Grant us the grace to be worthy of this calling and to feed others as you feed us. We pray in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ Amen.


Prayers of the Faithful for July 21 & 22, 2018

Presider:  

We follow in the footsteps of Jesus, the Shepherd, by caring and praying for one another, for our neighbors and for the whole world.

 

Lector:

For the Church: that we may be instruments of compassion and care to all who find life’s journey burdensome, we pray:

For peace where there is conflict: that God may lead all like a shepherd away from violence and into greater appreciation of life and the value of each person, we pray:

For all who serve in ministry: that God will bless their efforts, help them keep their lives in balance, and renew them in mind, body and spirit, we pray:

For refugees, immigrants, the homeless, and the oppressed: that God may show them a shepherd’s care and raise up effective leaders to assist them, we pray:

For the wisdom to recognize when our bodies and minds require rest and to claim quiet spaces for personal renewal, we pray:

For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers, including, Don Atkinson, Evelyn Gans, and Randy Bedard; may they find comfort and healing, through God’s love, we pray:

For those who have died, and for all who mourn their passing, we pray:

 

Presider:

Lord, you have always looked kindly upon your people, regardless of their worthiness. You sent caring leaders and your Son, Jesus, to shepherd the weary and discouraged. Show us how to follow his example and be caring shepherds to those in need. We pray this through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.


Prayers of the Faithful for July 14 & 15, 2018

Presider:  

We are sent to continue Jesus’ ministry; and so we pray for all those he loves here and throughout the whole world.

  

Lector:

For the Church: that we may each bring forth the reign of God in our lives, our work and our relationships, we pray:

For all bishops, successors to the Apostles: that God will strengthen and inspire them as they guide the church in fulfilling its mission of proclaiming forgiveness, healing and truth, we pray:

For all who are suffering, for children separated from their parents, those in need of healing, and for those recovering from natural disasters: that God will relieve their suffering, heal their pain and restore their lives, we pray:

For farmers, gardeners and all who work the land; may God provide good weather for an abundant harvest, we pray:

For wisdom: that we may face questions and rejection confidently as we follow God’s call in our lives, we pray:

For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers, including Evelyn Gans, Don Atkinson, and Randy Bedard. May they find comfort and healing, through God’s love, we pray:

For those who have died, especially Vince Jasenovski, the brother of Marlene Crofoot, and for all who mourn their passing, we pray

 

Presider:

Loving God, you have chosen us in Christ Jesus and call us to continue his mission. Help us to live as your holy people and grant us the courage to respond to his call. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.


Prayers of the Faithful for July 7 & 8, 2018

Presider:  

We who are called to respond in faith to Jesus’ prophetic word pray humbly for ourselves, for our neighbors and for the whole world.

 

Lector:

For the church, that it may welcome the voices of prophecy wherever and from whomever they come, we pray:

For our Archdiocese, that God will lift up Archbishop Bernard Hebda as he leads us in efforts to heal, we pray:

For greater trust: that God will strengthen us when we feel inadequate because of weaknesses or inexperience and free us to become passionate disciples, we pray:

For those in our parish who help feed the hungry, especially those who contribute and bring food to 360 Communities, the local food shelf in Burnsville, we pray:

For all families and communities which are divided: that the healing power of God's Spirit may lead them to reconciliation and forgiveness, we pray:

For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers; may they find comfort and healing, through God’s love, we pray:

For those who have died, and for all who mourn their passing, we pray:

 

 Presider:

Loving God, you sent Jesus to reveal your love and your will for us. Grant us faith, openness to your word and the courage to share it with others. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.


Prayers of the Faithful for June 30 & July 1, 2018

Presider: Let us bring our needs to the God who calls us to deeper faith and new life.

 

Reader:

For the Church: that we, who are made in the image of God, may celebrate God’s gift of life to us and live it intentionally and with conviction, we pray:

For growth in our faith: that God will draw us into a deeper relationship, strengthen us in challenging times, and inspire us to be faithful disciples, we pray:

For the grace of generosity: that God will free our hearts to share from our abundance so that those who are struggling may experience God’s blessings, we pray:

For those in need of healing, particularly children and those with chronic conditions: that God will renew the gift of life within them and restore them to health and wholeness, we pray:

For our nation as we celebrate our Independence Day, that the Spirit of God may guide us in building our nation on liberty and justice for all, we pray:

For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers, especially, Sharon Boeckman. May they find comfort and healing, through God’s love, we pray:

For all who have died, especially, Fritzie Becklund; and those who died this week in the Annapolis shooting. May God welcome them to new eternal life and ease the loss of those who grieve their passing, we pray:

 

Presider:

Gracious God, you sent your divine Son to heal us of all that keeps us from you; hear our prayers that our faith may increase and one day we may share everlasting life with you. We pray this through Christ our Lord. Amen

 


Prayers of the Faithful for June 23 & 24, 2018

Presider:

Let us pray for all who are called to point others toward Jesus and for those who hear this message.

 

Reader:

That our church may be a light of God’s love and compassion for the human family, we pray:

That the “coastlands” and “distant peoples” of the world may one day be gathered in justice and peace before God, we pray:

That the poor, sick, troubled, and oppressed may be restored to health and wholeness through the love of Christ, we pray:

That God will guide our youth who leave for their mission trip to Arkansas on July 14. May they have a safe journey, learn from those they visit, and use their gifts fully in their generous service to others, we pray:

That all who gather at this Eucharistic feast be reconciled with one another in God’s boundless grace, we pray:

That those who are ill and have asked for our prayers including Cyndi St. John and Sharon Boeckmon. May find comfort in the healing touch of God and by the loving care of family and friends, we pray:

That those who have died especially Coo Vang, the husband of Angelica Vang; may be forever held in the loving arms of God, we pray:

 

Presider:

God, who knows and calls us through baptism, we pray that we may be faithful and courageous witnesses to your Son, Jesus. Like John, we can make him known to those who do not yet know him. We pray this through Christ our Lord. Amen
