Prayers of the Faithful for January 19 & 20, 2019

Presider:

Let us pray that Jesus’ ongoing abundant love may touch our lives and the lives of others both near and far.

Reader:

For the church: that it may continue Jesus’ ministry of serving people in their life events, we pray:

For a deepening of faith: that we may be inspired by Mary’s words and seek to do whatever God asks of us, we pray:

For a greater recognition of the gifts God has given each person: that we may encourage the gifts of one another for the good of the Church and the whole human family, we pray:

For greater awareness of our limits: that we may recognize our need for God’s help and confidently call out to God as we face our challenges and shortcomings, we pray:

For all engaged and married couples: that they may be channels of God’s love to one another and signs of God’s loving presence in society, we pray:

For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers. May they be healed by God’s loving touch, including, John Ramberg, we pray:

For those who have died. May they find comfort in the arms of God, especially, Pris Pawlikowski, the sister in law of Dardra Pawlikowski; Eileen Freeman, and Bill Schulz, the father of Stephanie Selisker, and for those who mourn the passing of loved ones, we pray:

Presider:

O God, your love for us is a never ending abundance. Hear our prayers that one day we might share forever in the glory of your heavenly wedding banquet. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayers of the Faithful for January 12 & 13, 2019

Presider:

Made children of God by baptism, we raise up our prayers in confidence.

Reader:

For the Church: that we may recognize our calling to be daughters and sons of God who have been given the gift of the Holy Spirit and sent to share God’s Good News with others, we pray:

For understanding: that we may learn from Jesus how to be fully human and place all of our gifts and talents into God’s service, we pray:

For all who have been baptized in our community, particularly those during this last year, may they be faithful disciples of Jesus and continue to grow in their knowledge and love of God, we pray:

For young people who have strayed from God’s path, may they find in Jesus a friend who comforts and guides them, we pray:

For those in need of a shepherd’s care: for refugees, the ill, those unjustly detained, and those who lack heat or food, that God’s love will comfort them and the hearts of many that reach out to them, we pray:

For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers. May they be healed by God’s loving touch, we pray:

For those who have died, and for those who mourn the passing of loved ones. May they find comfort in the arms of God, we pray:

Presider:

God of mercy, you never cease to call us to repentance and fullness of life. Hear our prayers as we strive to follow the way of Jesus. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Presider:

As we rejoice in the coming of our Savior, we dare to present our needs and those of the world.

Lector:

For the Church: that we experience joy through recognizing God with us each day and be free to share that joy with others, we pray:

For the grace to accompany one another: that God will free us from judging others and help us to see each person as a sister or brother with fears and wounds like ourselves, we pray:

For openness of heart: that we, like the crowds, may ask “What should we do?” and listen for God’s life giving invitations, we pray:

For a renewal of hope: that we may surrender our anxieties to God and trust in God’s providence for all our needs and challenges, we pray:

For the gift of Joy: that we may welcome the Spirit more fully into our lives and be instruments of God’s life and love to others, we pray:

For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers, including, Tom Diger. May all who suffer be encouraged by the Lord’s coming...we pray

For those who have died, and for those grieving the passing of a loved-one, we pray:
