Prayers of the Faithful for February 16 & 17, 2019

Presider:

Let us pray now for our own needs and the needs of the whole world.

Lector:

For the Church: that the power of Christ’s resurrection may give us vision and perspective for our lives and the courage to live for God each day, we pray:

For Pope Francis and all the bishops who are gathering in Rome this week: that the Spirit will inspire them to boldly act to cleanse the church of abusive behavior and be instruments of healing for all who are suffering, we pray:

For a growth in faith: that we may deepen our trusting reliance upon God who provides all that we need for life and wholeness, we pray:

For discernment: that we may see beyond the false answers of consumerism and prosperity, and recognize the true fulfillment of our hungers and desires that can be found only in God, we pray:

For all who are filled with sorrow: that those who have lost loved ones, their health or their employment may know the presence of God who wipes away all tears and who brings light into every darkness, we pray:

For all who are ill, including, Tom Diger, Cheri Henderson, and Terri Ennett. May God lift their burden and fill their hearts with peace, we pray:

For all who have died, especially, Mary Thamert, the sister of Bob Thamert. May they share fully in the new life of Christ and live with God forever, we pray:

Presider:

Loving God, you sent your son to show us the way of holy living. Hear our prayers that we might become ever more people of your way. We ask this through Christ our Lord, Amen.
