Prayers of the Faithful for July 14 & 15, 2018

Presider:  

We are sent to continue Jesus’ ministry; and so we pray for all those he loves here and throughout the whole world.

  

Lector:

For the Church: that we may each bring forth the reign of God in our lives, our work and our relationships, we pray:

For all bishops, successors to the Apostles: that God will strengthen and inspire them as they guide the church in fulfilling its mission of proclaiming forgiveness, healing and truth, we pray:

For all who are suffering, for children separated from their parents, those in need of healing, and for those recovering from natural disasters: that God will relieve their suffering, heal their pain and restore their lives, we pray:

For farmers, gardeners and all who work the land; may God provide good weather for an abundant harvest, we pray:

For wisdom: that we may face questions and rejection confidently as we follow God’s call in our lives, we pray:

For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers, including Evelyn Gans, Don Atkinson, and Randy Bedard. May they find comfort and healing, through God’s love, we pray:

For those who have died, especially Vince Jasenovski, the brother of Marlene Crofoot, and for all who mourn their passing, we pray

 

Presider:

Loving God, you have chosen us in Christ Jesus and call us to continue his mission. Help us to live as your holy people and grant us the courage to respond to his call. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.


Prayers of the Faithful for July 7 & 8, 2018

Presider:  

We who are called to respond in faith to Jesus’ prophetic word pray humbly for ourselves, for our neighbors and for the whole world.

 

Lector:

For the church, that it may welcome the voices of prophecy wherever and from whomever they come, we pray:

For our Archdiocese, that God will lift up Archbishop Bernard Hebda as he leads us in efforts to heal, we pray:

For greater trust: that God will strengthen us when we feel inadequate because of weaknesses or inexperience and free us to become passionate disciples, we pray:

For those in our parish who help feed the hungry, especially those who contribute and bring food to 360 Communities, the local food shelf in Burnsville, we pray:

For all families and communities which are divided: that the healing power of God's Spirit may lead them to reconciliation and forgiveness, we pray:

For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers; may they find comfort and healing, through God’s love, we pray:

For those who have died, and for all who mourn their passing, we pray:

 

 Presider:

Loving God, you sent Jesus to reveal your love and your will for us. Grant us faith, openness to your word and the courage to share it with others. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.


Prayers of the Faithful for June 30 & July 1, 2018

Presider: Let us bring our needs to the God who calls us to deeper faith and new life.

 

Reader:

For the Church: that we, who are made in the image of God, may celebrate God’s gift of life to us and live it intentionally and with conviction, we pray:

For growth in our faith: that God will draw us into a deeper relationship, strengthen us in challenging times, and inspire us to be faithful disciples, we pray:

For the grace of generosity: that God will free our hearts to share from our abundance so that those who are struggling may experience God’s blessings, we pray:

For those in need of healing, particularly children and those with chronic conditions: that God will renew the gift of life within them and restore them to health and wholeness, we pray:

For our nation as we celebrate our Independence Day, that the Spirit of God may guide us in building our nation on liberty and justice for all, we pray:

For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers, especially, Sharon Boeckman. May they find comfort and healing, through God’s love, we pray:

For all who have died, especially, Fritzie Becklund; and those who died this week in the Annapolis shooting. May God welcome them to new eternal life and ease the loss of those who grieve their passing, we pray:

 

Presider:

Gracious God, you sent your divine Son to heal us of all that keeps us from you; hear our prayers that our faith may increase and one day we may share everlasting life with you. We pray this through Christ our Lord. Amen

 


Prayers of the Faithful for June 23 & 24, 2018

Presider:

Let us pray for all who are called to point others toward Jesus and for those who hear this message.

 

Reader:

That our church may be a light of God’s love and compassion for the human family, we pray:

That the “coastlands” and “distant peoples” of the world may one day be gathered in justice and peace before God, we pray:

That the poor, sick, troubled, and oppressed may be restored to health and wholeness through the love of Christ, we pray:

That God will guide our youth who leave for their mission trip to Arkansas on July 14. May they have a safe journey, learn from those they visit, and use their gifts fully in their generous service to others, we pray:

That all who gather at this Eucharistic feast be reconciled with one another in God’s boundless grace, we pray:

That those who are ill and have asked for our prayers including Cyndi St. John and Sharon Boeckmon. May find comfort in the healing touch of God and by the loving care of family and friends, we pray:

That those who have died especially Coo Vang, the husband of Angelica Vang; may be forever held in the loving arms of God, we pray:

 

Presider:

God, who knows and calls us through baptism, we pray that we may be faithful and courageous witnesses to your Son, Jesus. Like John, we can make him known to those who do not yet know him. We pray this through Christ our Lord. Amen


Prayers of the Faithful for June 16 & 17, 2018

Presider:

In a spirit of faith and hope, we lift up our prayers for those we love and for the whole world.

 

Reader:

That the seed of faith planted in the heart of each believer may grow into a bountiful manifestation of God’s reign in the world, we pray:

That crops planted this season will give a bountiful harvest so that all may be nourished and sustained by God’s gifts, we pray:

That the efforts of those who serve the poor and oppressed may reap an abundant harvest of compassion and justice, we pray:

That we will be open to the growth that takes place in our lives and that we find the strength to continue faithfully to respond to God’s invitations, we pray:

That our Father in heaven will bless and guide all fathers, stepfathers, and guardians in the holy vocation of fatherhood, we pray:

That those who are ill and have asked for our prayers, including Hank Dotzler and Cyndi St. John, may find comfort in the healing touch of God and by the loving care of family and friends, we pray:

That those who have died, especially Scott Jirik, the son of Sharon Jirik, may be forever held in the loving arms of God, we pray:

 

Presider:

Accept these prayers, O God, and, with the faith of the mustard seed, may our smallest acts of kindness and justice bring your kingdom to reality in our own time and place. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen


Visitation & Funeral Information for Gerald DeMaster

 

Gerald W "Jerry" DeMaster age 74 of Burnsville, passed away on June 3, 2018. 

Mass Of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 9,  with a visitation Friday (6/8) 5-8 p.m. at White Funeral Home, 12804 Nicollet Ave., Burnsville and one hour prior to Mass at the church.

 


Prayers of the Faithful for June 9 & 10, 2018

Presider:

Let us pray with compassionate hearts for all who are in need in the world, in our communities and in our families.

 

Reader:

For the Church: that we may be a family of faith bound together by Jesus’ spirit of humble service, we pray:

For peace: that God will guide the leaders of nations as they seek to reduce nuclear weapons, conflicts over territory and terrorism, we pray:

For discernment: that we may recognize the work of God within and around us, cooperate with it more fully and never be deceived by the glamour of evil, we pray:

For all who are bound by guilt from past deeds: that Christ will free them, refresh their inner selves and give them a new vision for life and service, we pray:

For families in crisis: that they may find joy in their life together through the healing presence of Christ, we pray:

For the sick and suffering in our community, including Billie Rivers, Hank Dotzler, and Cyndi St. John.  For all who suffer, we pray:

For those who have died especially Kathy Brastad, the wife of Jerry Brastad; Jerry Demaster, the brother of Bernie Demaster; and Lenore Horvat. For all who mourn their passing, we pray:

 

Presider:

O Lord, may the prayers we offer with one voice make us one in heart and spirit as well. Grant these prayers that we make to you in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen


Prayers of the Faithful for June 2 & 3, 2018

Presider:  

As a people bound in a deep covenant relationship with God, we express our gratitude by praying for one another, for our neighbors and for the whole world.

 

Lector:

For the Church, many members but yet one body: that we may grow in unity and love as the Body of Christ, we pray:

For a greater sharing in the Christian mission: that through our reception of the Eucharist, we may truly become the Body of Christ and extend Christ’s work into our families, neighborhoods and workplaces each day, we pray:

For those who bring Eucharist to hospitals and the homebound, that they be signs of God’s love, compassion and healing, we pray

For the grace of thankfulness: that we may begin each day with a spirit of gratitude and grow in our awareness of all God’s gifts to us and the opportunities that we have to use them, we pray:

For a greater awareness of the spiritual dimension of all things:  that we may recognize the hand of God at work in our lives and the world around us, bringing us to fuller life each day, we pray:

For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers including Billie Rivers. May they find comfort in the healing touch of God and by the loving care of family and friends, we pray:

For all who mourn the death of a loved one, especially Jerry Griffin, the brother of Fr. Pat Griffin and brother in law of Kate Adamek. May all who have died be forever held in the loving arms of God, we pray:

 

Presider:

Generous and loving God, we are grateful that you have chosen us as your people. Help us to live out the Eucharist by giving ourselves for one another. We ask this in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen.


Prayers of the Faithful for May 26 & 27, 2018

Presider:  

In confidence we pray for our needs to the Triune God who chooses to share divine life with us.

Lector:

For unity in the Church: that we may recognize our call to be children of God, be united in communion through the Holy Spirit and encourage one another as we follow God's call in our lives, we pray:

For unity in our world: that God will open new pathways for dialogue so that all may live in peace, we pray:

For unity in our community: that we may appreciate the wonder of each person and work together to address the needs and longings of all who enter our lives, we pray:

For unity in our families: that the love which is the Trinity may strengthen and renew each of us and deepen our love for one another, we pray:

For unity with God in each of our hearts: for openness to God’s love; that we may allow God to bring us into the life of the Trinity and to deepen a relationship with us, we pray:

On this Memorial Day, let us pray for those who lost their lives in war, for those in danger today, and for families and friends who care about them, we pray:

For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers including Barb Kachnowicz and Billie Rivers. May they find comfort in the healing touch of God and by the loving care of family and friends, we pray:

For all who mourn the death of a loved one especially Delia Roehl, the sister of Fr. Gene Pouliot and  Koo Vang. May all who have died be forever held in the loving arms of God, we pray:

 

Presider:

Gracious God, pour the Spirit of love into our hearts that we may be united to Christ and to each other in the bond of peace. We ask this through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen
