Prayers of the Faithful for October 31 & November 1, 2015
We stand today in the company of all the saints, praying for ourselves and for the needs of all humanity.
For the Church and for all believers who strive to join the great communion of saints, we pray to the Lord:
For Pope Francis, that his words and example will inspire many young people to consider a vocation in the Church, we pray to the Lord:
For peacemakers who work to create a safe and secure environment wherever there is war, violence or discord, we pray to the Lord:
For the poor in spirit who live in humility and profound respect for others, we pray to the Lord:
For the merciful who show love, compassion, and forgiveness toward others, we pray to the Lord:
For those who are persecuted for righteousness: those who suffer or are martyred for faith, justice, or human rights, we pray to the Lord:
For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers. May they be healed by God’s loving touch, we pray to the Lord:
For those who mourn, and for those who have died, especially Nate Woodford, the son of Joe and Tracy Woodford.
We now honor our beloved dead who have been buried from Risen Savior in the past 12 months: (The names are sung in a litany.)
Loving God, you have given us the communion of saints to inspire and guide us on our journey. Grant us, we pray, the desire and courage to live out the Beatitudes, so that we, too, may be numbered among that great company. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
