Prayers of the Faithful for September 5 & 6, 2015
Our God speaks to us, heals us, and saves us. Let us make our needs known to such a caring God.
For the church: that it may present a merciful, healing face open to all who suffer, we pray:
For a spirit of compassion among all leaders and policymakers, especially those responsible for the needy and marginalized, we pray:
For teachers and students beginning the challenges of a new academic year; and for families stretched by additional activities, demands and expenses, we pray:
For all workers, whom we honor this Labor Day: for all who contribute to our quality of life; for the unemployed or the underemployed, we pray:
For policies that promote fair wages, safe working environments, humane hours and healthy family life, we pray:
For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers, including Lois Deneen, Chuck Bernard, Patrice Klayum. May all who suffer be healed by God’s loving touch and by the prayers of this community, we pray:
For those who have died, may they experience the peace and joy of God’s kingdom, we pray:
Lord our God, you heal and draw us to yourself by your tender care: hear these, our prayers, and open our eyes to receive the Good News proclaimed by your Divine Son. Who lives and reigns for ever and ever. Amen.
