Prayers of the Faithful for February 20 & 21, 2016
We who seek a deeper relationship with Jesus pray now for all of our needs and the needs of the world.
For the Church: that we may listen deeply to God’s beloved Son so that our lives may manifest God’s glory, we pray:
For a deepening of hope: that in the midst of negative and doubting messages from our society, we may grow in trusting that God will never give up on us, we pray:
For a deeper awareness of life’s goal: that we may allow God to change and transform us day by day so that we may come to the fullness of life with God in eternity, we pray:
For all who are homeless or outcasts: that they may find shelter, protection and friendship, we pray:
For all who are on a journey, whether physical or spiritual: that they may know God’s presence each step along the way and rely upon God’s light and truth to guide their steps, we pray:
For the sick and suffering in our community, including Kathy Parker, Mary Matthis, and Mary Sebastian. For all who suffer, we pray:
For those who have died, especially Robert Schmidt, the husband of Delores Schmidt; Karen Randall; Jane Heitzman, the mother of Ellen Heitzman; and for all who mourn their passing, we pray:
Glorious God, you make known your salvation through the presence of your transfigured Son. Grant our prayers of petition that one day we might share in your eternal glory. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
