Prayers of the Faithful for May 25 & 26, 2019

Presider:

Living the word of Jesus makes demands on us. Let us pray to be faithful followers of Jesus.

Lector:

For the Church that still needs the comforting love of Christ and the assurance of his abiding presence among us, we pray:

For all who are in need of peace: our families, our neighborhoods, our nation and the whole world, we pray:

For competent leaders and visionaries who guide us when our path is unclear, we pray:

For reconciliation: that God will help us to let go of hurts and renew relationships within families, in church communities and in workplaces, we pray:

For discernment: that the Holy Spirit will remind us of all the Jesus taught and help us apply it in our lives and to the challenges of our society, we pray:

On this Memorial Day, let us pray for those who lost their lives in war, for those in danger today, and for families and friends who care about them, we pray:

For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers, including Susan Swanton, Mary Jan Franzen, Randy Bedard, and Jim Fitzpatrick, may they feel Christ’s healing touch, we pray:

For all who mourn the death of a loved one, especially, John Schroeder, the nephew of Karen Kausak; may they find comfort in the joy of Jesus’ resurrection, we pray:

Presider:

Gracious God, we continue to rely on the promises of your son, Jesus, as we carry on his work to bring all people to you and your kingdom of peace to fruition. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
