March 31, 2023 By Kevin Rotty

Prayers of the Faithful:Palm Sunday –April 1 & 2, 2023

Presider:

My brothers and sisters in Christ, as we enter this Holy Week, let us pray for our world and ourselves, asking God for what we need to make a holy difference.

Lector:

  • For a holy week of peace in those places where there is violence, we pray …
  • For a holy week of unity among all Christians, we pray …
  • For a holy week for those without homes, without jobs, without a means to provide for their loved ones, we pray …
  • For those who will receive the sacraments of initiation at Easter and be received into the church, and for this community as we enter these holy days together, we pray …
  • For all who were impacted by the elementary school shooting in Nashville this past week, that God will welcome the souls of the deceased and comfort the hearts of those mourning the loss of loved ones.
  • For a holy week for those who are ill and have asked for our prayers especially:Laurie Kouba, Barbara Skierecki, Lorraine Czeck, and  Oziel Ortiz.  May all who suffer be encouraged by Jesus, who conquered suffering and death, we pray…
  • For those who have died, and for those who are dying, and for those who are grieving the passing of a loved one, we pray …

Prayers of the Faithful – March 25 & 26, 2023

Presider:

We now raise our prayers to God, who offers us resurrection and life.

Reader:

  • For the Church: that God will transform our fears into hope, selfishness into love, and deaths into new life, we pray to the Lord:
  • For all who must face death each day, particularly emergency personnel and hospital chaplains: that God will strengthen their spirits and help them honor the life of each person they assist, we pray to the Lord:
  • For those with a terminal illness and those on death row: that they may surrender their life into God’s embrace and come to know Jesus who is the resurrection and the life, we pray to the Lord:
  • For all who are experiencing divorce or the death of a relationship: that God will heal their pain, help them to face the issues with courage, and give them hope for their future, we pray to the Lord:
  • That God will inspire us with hope in the face of adversity, and to see those hard times as an opportunity for the saving and healing power of Jesus to be shown through us, we pray to the Lord:
  • For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers including, Joseph Andrayzek, Laurie Kouba,  and Oziel Ortiz. May they find comfort in God’s love and from the care of their family and friends, we pray:
  • Today we pray for our Beloved Dead: Shirley Britten, and Clara Bieganek as wel as those who have died more recently, especially Geraldine Stoffel, mother of Joel Stoffel. May all who have died find joy in the resurrection…we pray:

Prayers of the Faithful – March 18 & 19, 2023

Presider:

Let us pray now for ourselves and for all who need to be seen with God’s eyes.

Lector:

  • For the Church: that we may share the light of the Gospel with all who are struggling to recognize good from evil, truth from lies, and selfless love from self-serving activity, we pray:
  • For a spirit of respect: that we may honor each person who enters our life, particularly those with physical or developmental limitations, and encourage them to use their gifts and enrich the community, we pray:
  • For all who are bound by the blindness of prejudice: that God will free them from judging others and open their eyes to the value and dignity of each human person, we pray:
  • For all who live in the darkness of violence, warfare, or human trafficking: that God will comfort all who are in pain, bring light into their lives, and speed the assistance that they need to find new communities, we pray:
  • For insight and openness to caring for our environment: that God will help us to see the damages that have been done to our air, water, and land and guide us in developing policies that will protect the environment from further harm, we pray:
  • For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers including, Duane Caspers, Joseph Andrayzek, Emmett Linn and Maureen Guion. May they find comfort in God’s love and from the care of their family and friends, we pray:

Presider:

Merciful God, you desire to heal our inability to see with eyes of faith. Hear our prayers and bring us to the fullness of life. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
