Special Our Lady of Guadalupe Announcement from Fr. Matthew
Friends, peace and all good! As we prepare for our celebration of the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe this Friday, I am very aware of the impact of recent ICE activity on many of our Latino parishioners. Some are afraid to leave their homes, and that fear is understandable. Risen Savior, though, will go ahead with this important celebration of Our Lady as planned.
- The celebration will begin at 6 PM with our youth and their dramatic reenactment of the miraculous events in 1531.
- Our bilingual mass will follow at 7 PM.
- After the mass, there will be mariachis performing and a wonderful meal and fellowship time.
- Please note that there will be two Burnsville police officers at the parish as an added level of safety and security. These officers are NOT in any way associated with ICE.
For anyone who cannot join us in person, the mass will be livestreamed. While this is not the same as being at the mass and receiving the Eucharist, it is a wonderful way to make this special day holy.
Please note that two of our Sunday liturgies—the 9 AM English and the 1 PM Spanish---are live streamed each Sunday. You can access these liturgies on our website, www.risensavior.org. Please open the tab for “Masses and Liturgies” and then click the link to LIVE STREAM.
Also, Fr. Matthew and Fr. Edwin will be available for confessions from 3 PM-5 PM for those who want to receive the sacrament before our mass at 7 PM on Friday, December 12, 2025.
Please know that you are all in my prayers as we confront these challenges! We are always stronger when we stand together in faith, as a community.
Tuyo en Cristo, Padre Mateo
