Prayers of the Faithful            April 17 & 18, 2021

Presider:

Knowing that Jesus still stands among us, we lay before him our prayers for ourselves, for others and for the world.

Reader:

  • For the Church: that the Spirit will open our minds to understand the Scriptures and empower us to share the message of God’s love and forgiveness with all whom we encounter, we pray:
  • For the grace of forgiveness: that we will be open to Gods free and generous forgiveness, and strive to forgive others as we have been forgiven, we pray:
  • For those impacted by the unrest this past week in Brooklyn Center as they mourn the death of Daunte Wright; for healing of all those involved: that God will help us to recognize the dignity of each person and work to heal the wounds and divisions that exist, we pray:
  • For protection from violence and mass shootings: that God will protect the human family from destructive violence and the shooting of innocent persons, we pray:
  • For our fellow parishioners at our Sister Parish St. Rose of Lima, who along with all Haitians, have increasing dire concerns for their personal safety: that the peace of the Risen Christ may always be known to them and that our hearts may continue to burn with love and solidarity for them, we pray:, we pray:
  • For those who are ill, may they feel Jesus’ healing touch, we pray:
  • For all who mourn the death of a loved one, that they may find comfort in the joy of Jesus’ resurrection, we pray:

Presider:

God of our ancestors, you have given us Jesus as your great final gift, to lead us, guide us and bring us peace. We ask you to strengthen our faith and give us the courage to keep his commandments. Keep us aware of his presence among us, we pray in his name. Amen.
