Prayers of the Faithful for June 13 and 14, 2020

Presider:

In confidence, we pray for our needs to the Triune God who chooses to share divine life with us.

Lector:

  • For those sharing in the Eucharist for the first time today, may they, along with all of us, be transformed more and more into the Body of Christ, we pray:
  • For Christian unity: that Christ’s Body and Blood given for us may heal all the divisions within the Christian community and bind us together into one body in love and service, we pray:
  • For all who cannot receive the Eucharist, particularly those in isolation, in refugee centers, or imprisoned for their faith: that God will strengthen them and make God’s presence known to them through others, we pray:
  • For this Christian Community, many members but one body: that we may be a people of deep gratitude and allow God to continue to build us into a community of faith and love, we pray:
  • For governmental and civic leaders: that God will give them wisdom to address the unrest, insight into righting the injustices, and words that will unite society, we pray:
  • For all who are unemployed: that God will give them courage and hope, sustain them as they wait, and help them find new opportunities for work, we pray:
  • For the sick and those in need of our communal prayer, especially Kara Oettinger, May they find comfort in the healing touch of God and by the loving care of family and friends, we pray:
  • For those mourning the loss of a loved one; for those who have died especially Rose Woodside, sister-in-law of Christine Sorensen. May all who have died be forever held in the loving arms of God, we pray:

Presider: Gracious God, pour the Spirit of love into our hearts that we may be united to Christ and to each other in the bond of peace. May our prayers be acceptable to you in the name of your only Son, our Redeemer, Jesus Christ. Amen
