Prayers of the Faithful for March 2 & 3, 2019

Presider:

Heeding Jesus’ call to repentance, we humbly voice our petitions, trusting in God’s never ending mercy.

Lector:

For the Church: that all may bear good fruit for the glory of God, we pray:

For elected leaders: for truthful dialogue among all representatives of political parties and, for the enactment of just laws that protect the least among us, for transparency in government, we pray:

For the grace to be single-hearted: that God will cleanse us of hypocrisy and help us to live fully what we profess, we pray:

For a re-centering of our lives during the coming Lenten season: that God’s grace will guide us to love God more fully and to love our neighbors as we do ourselves, we pray:

For refugees and displaced persons: that God will protect them from harm and mistreatment, guide them to places of safety, and help them find acceptance in new communities, we pray:

For all who are ill, including, Madelyn Kozitza, Mary Matthis, and Mary Jane Franzen. May God lift their burden and fill their hearts with peace, we pray:

For all who have died, especially, Esteban Garcia, the uncle of Liz Arellano; and Pauline Krenik, the mother of Fr. Tom Krenik, May they share fully in the new life of Christ and live with God forever, we pray:

Presider:

Gracious God, all that we have is a gift from you. May we tend and cultivate these gifts so they might bear fruit for the glory of your name. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
