Prayers of the Faithful for August 19 & 20, 2017

Presider:

With great persistence and faith we make our own needs known to God.

Lector:

For the church, that we may be a people open to all and rejecting none, we pray:

For authentic trust in God: that we may call out in faith, with sincerity and conviction, to God who saves and delivers us from all our suffering and need, we pray:

For freedom from bias, prejudice, and racism, that people of every race and culture seek to understand those who are different from themselves, we pray:

For a spirit of hospitality: that our faith community may welcome all visitors as Christ and that our assemblies may be a place where all people can draw closer to God, we pray:

For an end to violence and terrorism, that those who died or were injured in Barcelona this week may find healing and comfort from their neighbors, community, and throughout the world, we pray:

For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers including, Anthony Theisen, Keith Chapman, Matt Hoscheit

May they find comfort in the healing touch of God and by the loving care of family and friends, we pray:

For all who have died, may they be forever held in the loving arms of God, we pray:

Presider:

Merciful God, you offer healing and salvation to all who cry out to you. Hear our prayers that one day we might enjoy the fullness of life with you in heaven. We ask this in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen.
