Prayers of the Faithful for November 25 & 26, 2023

Presider:

With confidence we make our needs known to God through the intercessions of Christ the King.

Lector:

  • For the Church: that we may recognize Christ in one another and honor the dignity of each person whom God has called to life, we pray:
  • For all leaders of Christian communities: that they may be shepherds like Jesus who gather the lost, bind up the injured, and encourage the weak so that all may know the fullness of life, we pray:
  • For the suffering, forgotten, and marginalized in society: that God will shepherd them, heal their wounds, and lead them to fuller and more fruitful lives, we pray:
  • For all who work to relieve the suffering of others, particularly relief workers and parish volunteers: that they may show God’s compassionate care and be strengthened by God’s Spirit each day, we pray:
  • For Peace: that God will guide negotiations in bringing an end to violence and warfare, protect children and the elderly from harm, and deepen the respect for all human life, we pray:
  • For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers including: Maggie Brenan, Nicole Marschall, and Patty Haggerty, that they may they find comfort in the healing touch of God and in the loving care of family and friends, we pray:
  • Today we pray for our Beloved Dead, including Catherine Hermanson, and David Stephan, well as those who have died more recently, especially, Joseph Kankovsky, Sr. father of Joe Kankovsky, and Jim and Jean Noland, parents of Laura Beuning; that God will fill them with life and give consolation and peace to those who grieve them, we pray:

Presider:

God, our protector and judge, we thank you for sending your Son to show us who you are and who we are called to be. Give us strength and courage to care for the least among us. Make us worthy to stand among those called to live in eternal life. We ask this in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ, the King of the Universe. Amen.
