Prayers of the Faithful – August 24 & 25, 2024
Presider:
As we gather in faith, let us confidently bring our prayers before the Lord, who calls us to follow Him with hearts full of trust and commitment.
Lector:
- For the Church, that all members may courageously choose to follow Christ, especially in times of trial and difficulty, we pray to the Lord:
- For world leaders, that they may make decisions rooted in justice, compassion, and a desire for peace, always choosing the common good over personal gain, we pray to the Lord:
- For those who struggle with faith, that they may find strength in Christ’s teachings and the support of the Christian community, choosing to remain steadfast in their journey of faith, we pray to the Lord:
- For families, that they may be places of love and mutual support, where each member chooses to serve one another with Christ-like love, we pray to the Lord:
- For those preparing to commit to marriage, for couples who have shared many years together, and for those experiencing challenges, we pray to the Lord.:
- For the sick and suffering in our community, including: Eileen France, Jacob LaMott, and Judy Landais. For all who suffer, we pray to the Lord:
- Today we pray for our Beloved Dead, including Patrick Montag, and Don Kuhl. We also pray for those who have died more recently, that God may welcome them to new eternal life and ease the loss of those who grieve their passing, we pray to the Lord:
Presider:
Heavenly Father, you offer us the gift of your Son and the invitation to choose the path of life. Hear our prayers, and grant us the grace to always choose to follow you with unwavering faith and love. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
