Prayers of the Faithful – February 1 & 2, 2025

Presider:

As we celebrate the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord, we turn to God, the source of all light, and offer our prayers for the Church and the world.

Reader:

  • For the Church, that we may always recognize and proclaim Christ as the light of the world, leading others to His saving presence. Let us pray to the Lord:
  • For all who have embraced consecrated life, that through their witness of prayer, service, and sacrifice, they may continue to reflect Christ’s light to the world.    Let us pray to the Lord:
  • For an increase in vocations to the priesthood, diaconate, and religious life, that more women and men may respond generously to God’s call. Let us pray to the Lord:
  • For those living in darkness—whether through poverty, injustice, or despair—that they may experience the light of Christ’s love and the care of the Christian community. Let us pray to the Lord:
  • For those affected by the recent mid-air collision near Washington, D.C., that the souls of the departed may rest in peace, and their families receive comfort and strength during this time of grief. Let us pray to the Lord:
  • For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers, including Robert Sargent, Fred Crawford, Joseph Andrezak, and Al Danielski, that all who suffer be healed by God’s loving touch and by the prayers of this community, we pray to the Lord:
  • For those who have died, especially Dorothy and William Schindler, as well as Louis Lintereur, husband of Frieda Lintereur; that they may rejoice forever in the presence of the Lord, we pray to the Lord:

Presider:

Loving Father, You sent Your Son as a light to the nations and the glory of Your people. Hear our prayers and grant that we may always walk in His light. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
