Prayers of the Faithful – March 8 & 9, 2025
Presider:
As we begin this season of Lent, let us turn to God with confidence, trusting in divine mercy and guidance. With hearts open to grace, we bring our prayers before the Lord.
Reader:
- For the Church, that during this Lenten season, all may be led to deeper faith through prayer, fasting, and acts of love. Let us pray to the Lord:
- For leaders of nations, that they may resist the temptations of power and serve with justice, wisdom, and compassion. Let us pray to the Lord:
- For our parish community, that our Lenten observances may draw us closer to Christ and renew our commitment to live as faithful disciples. Let us pray to the Lord:
- For all who are preparing for baptism and full initiation into the Church, that this season may be a time of grace and renewal for them. Let us pray to the Lord:
- For Pope Francis, that he may continue to experience healing, strength, and peace in body, mind, and spirit, and that God may sustain him in his ministry of shepherding the Church with wisdom and compassion. Let us pray to the Lord:
- For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers, including Ofelio Tu (pr. “too”), Judy Kuhl (pr. cool), Jeanette Negri, and Joseph Andreszcuk, that all who suffer be healed by God’s loving touch and by the prayers of this community. Let us pray to the Lord:
- For those who have died, especially Patty Lund; that they may rejoice forever in the presence of the Lord. Let us pray to the Lord:
Presider:
Merciful God, you were with Jesus in his times of temptation and trouble. Be with us when we struggle with the faith commitment made when we were baptized. Help us to remember that you are also our refuge, our fortress and our sustainer. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
