Prayers of the Faithful November 26 & 27, 2022

Presider:

Let us pray that this holy season will make us alert to Christ’s coming through the needs and concerns of all people.

Lector:

  • For the church: that we may be a focused and watchful people during this Advent season, we pray:
  • For all Christians: that we may put on the mind and heart of Christ and be a source of light and hope for all, we pray:
  • For all affected by the Mass shootings in Colorado and Virginia this past week. That God will welcome the souls of the departed, comfort the grieving, and inspire all of us to work to end these acts of violence, we pray:
  • For all who await God’s blessings, particularly for those who are expecting a child, for those who are separated from family or homeland, for members of the military awaiting to return home, and for those who are facing death: that God’s comforting and strengthening love will sustain them, we pray:
  • For the liberation of Haiti and the conversion of the people of Haiti, and especially our Sister Parish St. Rose of Lima, that in this time of turmoil and uncertainty in their country, they may be led with the creative energy of the Holy Spirit towards new life, we pray:
  • For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers including Nancy MoselyLorraine Czeck, Betty Rezac, Laura Krause, and Jean Burns.  May they find comfort in God’s love and from the care of their family and friends, we pray:
  • Today we pray for our Beloved Dead, including Kevin Adamek, Matthew Schmidt, Alyssa Schmidt, and John Piechowski.  We also pray for those who have more recently died. May all who have died be forever held in the loving arms of God, we pray:

Presider:

God who is ever present, grant us the ability to see the face of Jesus wherever he appears among us, and help us to live in awareness this Advent season. We ask this through our Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen.
