Prayers of the Faithful for October 15 & 16, 2022
Presider:
Answering the call to be persistent in prayer, we now lift up our many needs and the needs of the world.
Lector:
- For the Church: that we may be persistent in prayer and attentive to God’s invitations to greater discipleship, we pray:
- For all who have no voice or standing in society: that we may be aware of all who are forgotten by society and raise their needs and aspirations before others, we pray:
- For all who are growing weary in seeking justice and for all who are working to assist them: that the Holy Spirit will give them strength and help them to persevere, we pray:
- For peace: that God will turn the hearts of world leaders from violence and help them to take bold steps to promote peace and provide for the safety of the innocent, we pray:
- For the grace of perseverance: that we may consistently call upon God in our times of need and remain open to be changed by God’s love, we pray:
- For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers including, Mary Trudell, and Kathy Fastner. May they find comfort in God’s love and from the care of their family and friends, we pray:
- We remember those who have died with faith in the resurrection, especially Doug Lemay, brother-in-law of Karla McKenzie, Bob Selisker, uncle of Tim Selisker, and Richard Piechowski, brother of Mary Ocel, may they rejoice forever in God’s eternal home, we pray:
Presider:
Merciful God, we are grateful that you have always heard the prayers of your people. Show us how to trust in you when we grow impatient and grant us the gift of persistence. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
