Prayers of the Faithful May 21 & 22, 2022
Presider:
Living the word of Jesus makes demands on us. Let us pray to be faithful followers of Jesus. Please respond: “Risen Savior, hear our prayer.”
Lector:
- For the Church: that we may always be attentive to the creative work of the Spirit so that many may more easily encounter Christ, we pray:
- For the peace of Christ in our hearts: that we may live the peace of the Spirit and find strength to face the many challenges that arise in daily life, we pray:
- For all who are burdened by fear or anxiety: that the Spirit will free them so that they may live life fully and offer their gifts in the service of their brothers and sisters, we pray:
- For world leaders: that God will guide those working for peace, open new ways to resolve disputes, and help them remember that all life is sacred, we pray:
- For discernment: that the Holy Spirit will remind us of all the Jesus taught and help us apply it in our lives and to the challenges of our society, we pray:
- For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers, especially Ken Weldon; that they may feel Christ’s healing touch, we pray:
- Today we pray for our Beloved Dead, especially Diane Johnson, Mary Jo Raske, and Donald Craft, as well as those who have more recently died including Herman Josef Brass, father of Marianne Brass; and Eliza Hosana-Argosino, sister-in-law of Cora Argosino; that they may find comfort in the joy of Jesus’ resurrection, we pray:

Gracious God, we continue to rely on the promises of your son, Jesus, as we carry on his work to bring all people to you and your kingdom of peace to fruition. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
