Prayers of the Faithful May 14 & 15, 2022
Presider:
Jesus commands us to love one another as he has loved us. Let us pray to be faithful to this command. Today’s response is “Risen Savior, hear our prayer.”
Lector:
- For the Church: that we may be known as disciples of Jesus by the love and care that we show one another, we pray:
- For the grace of insight: that we may recognize all that God is doing in our lives, our faith community, and the world around us so that we may cooperate in bringing forth the reign of God in our time and place, we pray:
- For the poor, hungry, and neglected in our nation and all over the world, that their cries for daily bread may inspire works of compassion, advocacy, and mercy among those to whom much has been given., we pray:
- For all who have been displaced by war, famine, or natural disasters: that God will protect them from harm, touch the hearts of many to reach out and assist them, and lead them to places of safety, we pray:
- For all who are graduating this spring: that they will find good ways to use their gifts and skills so that they may contribute to society and find meaning and satisfaction in their work, we pray:
- That those who are ill and have asked for our prayers, including Sandy Hartung, and Herman Josef Brass, may feel Christ’s healing touch, we pray:
- That all who mourn the death of a loved one, especially Brian Kopek, brother-in-law of Darleen and David Ivy; that they may find comfort in the joy of Jesus’ resurrection, we pray:
Presider:
Loving God, you always hear our prayers and grant our needs. Help us to take up your son’s command to love so that our world might reflect more fully your glory. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
