Risen Savior Anti-Human Trafficking Committee
Welcome to the Anti-Human Trafficking Committee Page! We thank you for taking the time to learn how you can help break the chains that enslave so many of God's children.
Committee Vision & Purpose Statement
We are a group of parishioners dedicated to the call of acknowledging and addressing the issue of human trafficking in our society by:
- Increasing the awareness of the prevalence of human trafficking in our communities and our society for ourselves and our fellow parishioners.
- Seeking and implementing sources of education for ourselves and our fellow parishioners regarding the many facets of human trafficking.
- Supporting agencies actively working for the cause of human trafficking through donation, prayer, and presence.
The Committee typically meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 1-3pm in the Dorothy Day room. We always welcome new members! Fill out the form at the bottom of this page for information.
ANTI-HUMAN TRAFFICKING ANNOUNCEMENT AND PRESENTATION
AUGUST 12, 2025, 10:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M.
WITH DR. LORI QUIST
The Anti-Human Trafficking Committee of our parish is pleased to announce an educational offering open to anyone on Tuesday, August 12, from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. The event will be held in the Bays, where light snacks will be provided.
We are honored to host Dr. Lori Quist as our presenter. Dr. Quist holds a Ph.D. in Social and Criminal Justice, a Masters of Arts degree in Addiction Studies from Hazelden Graduate School, and an undergraduate degree in Police Science from St. Mary’s University. Her extensive background includes supporting clients facing addiction, incarcerated individuals, and victims/survivors of intimate partner violence, sexual assault, and sex trafficking. Currently, Dr. Quist serves as the Chief Executive Officer at Breaking Free, a St. Paul-based organization dedicated to ending sexual exploitation in the Twin Cities.
Dr. Quist will present Sex Trafficking 101, a comprehensive training designed to help community members, law enforcement, probation officers, and corrections personnel understand the pervasive issue of sexual exploitation and sex trafficking in Minnesota. This session will cover relevant legislation, laws, common terminology, and victimology, providing attendees with a foundational understanding of the subject. The training will also delve into the structure of trafficking rings, their methods of connecting with victims, and the overall scope of the problem. By exploring these critical aspects, participants will gain valuable insights into the complexities of sex trafficking and how it operates within our communities.
This presentation is offered free of charge, and pre-registration is not required. We welcome all who are interested in learning more about this important issue. Free-will offerings will be gratefully accepted to support the work of our Anti-Human Trafficking Committee. We hope you will join us for this informative and impactful session.

ACCEPTING DONATIONS NOW FOR JEWELRY SALE & BLESSING BOXES
If you are doing some cleaning and finding jewelry you would like to donate, our Anti-Human Trafficking Committee is accepting donations. While our sale is not until December, our group is taking donations now, as they try to work ahead if possible in sorting the jewelry we receive. You can bring donations anytime during our normal business hours or drop them off when you come to weekend Mass.
Once again, our Anti-Human Trafficking Committee is collecting items for Blessing Boxes (shoebox size) for women who come to Brittany's Place and Breaking Free. Each survivor is given a box when she comes into the facility, many in the middle of the night. We also put in a beanie baby and small, soft knit prayer square for them to hold onto. We hope to make 100 boxes to donate this spring. These have been donated; we are looking for donations of the following items:
- Dove body wash/soap
- Shampoo/Conditioner
- Body lotion
- Toothbrush, toothpaste and floss
- chapstick
- deodorant
- Tampons and Pads
- Kleenex packs
- Wipes

Our name has been changed/clarified to be the Anti-Human Trafficking Committee. We will also be assisting two additional non-profit agencies: ACT (Anti-Child Trafficking) United, an agency that focuses on awareness, prayer and prevention to end the exploitation and trafficking of children and teens and House of Hope, a Christ-centered refuge for women to heal from the past and rebuild life in the present.
We could not do this ministry without your continued support and we are very grateful! Thank you.
