Prayers of the Faithful – April 20 & 21, 2024
Presider:
Listening to Jesus’ voice and with hearts filled with confidence, we now make our needs known to our loving God.
Reader:
- For the Church: May shepherds of the Church, including Pope Francis, bishops, priests, and deacons, be inspired by the example of Jesus, the Good Shepherd, to lead their flocks with compassion, wisdom, and humility, we pray:
- For those who shepherd their families and communities: May they be strengthened by the grace of God to lead with love, patience, and selflessness, imitating Jesus’ example of sacrificial love as the Good Shepherd., we pray:
- For all who are lost, lonely, or wandering: May they encounter the loving presence of Jesus, the Good Shepherd, who seeks out the lost sheep and leads them to safety and belonging within His flock, we pray:
- For an increase in vocations to the priesthood and religious life: May young women and men hear the call of the Good Shepherd and respond with courage and openness to serve the Church and proclaim the Gospel to the ends of the earth, we pray:
- For the sick and suffering in our community, including: Keith Froelich and Patrick Klemisch. For all who suffer, we pray to the Lord:
- For those who have died. May they find comfort in God’s love, we pray to the Lord:
Presider:
Lord Jesus Christ, Good Shepherd of our souls, hear the prayers we offer on this day dedicated to Your loving care and guidance. Grant us the grace to follow You faithfully and to lead others to encounter Your saving love. AMEN.
