Prayers of the Faithful – August 8 & 9, 2026
Presider:
Trusting that God always draws near to those who call, we bring before our Creator our prayers for the Church and for the world.
Lector:
- For the Church: that we may become a community where those who are weary, fearful, or searching encounter the compassionate presence of Christ through our welcome, mercy, and love, we pray to the Lord:
- For world leaders and all who work for peace: that they may reject violence and division, seeking instead the wisdom, justice, and reconciliation that come from God, we pray to the Lord:
- For all who are vulnerable: especially those who are grieving, anxious, lonely, struggling with mental illness, or burdened by life’s hardships, that they may know the Lord’s gentle presence and find hope through the care of others, we pray to the Lord:
- For those whose faith has grown weak: that, like Peter, they may hear Christ’s invitation to trust again and experience the saving hand of the Lord reaching out to them, we pray to the Lord:
- For our parish community: that we may become more attentive to God’s quiet voice in prayer and more willing to be instruments of God’s compassion for those in need, we pray to the Lord:
- For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers, including: Bruce Peterson, and Ryleigh Eischen, that all who suffer may be healed by God’s loving touch and by the prayers of this community, we pray to the Lord.
- For those who have died, that they may rejoice forever in the presence of the Lord, we pray to the Lord:
Presider:
Gracious God, you never abandon your people but draw near with mercy and love. Hear the prayers we place before you today, strengthen our faith when we are afraid, and help us to trust in your abiding presence. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen
