Prayers of the Faithful December 18 & 19, 2021

Presider:  

Because we believe that the Savior is among us, we joyfully make our needs known.

Lector:

  • For the Church: that our hearts may leap for joy as we recognize God-with-us in the people and events of our lives, we pray:
  • For all believers: that we, like Mary, may believe that God will do great things in and through our ordinariness, we pray:
  • For all who are traveling during this season: that they may arrive safely and have renewing visits with family and friends, we pray:
  • For all who may be alone over the holidays, and for those for whom the holidays and winter months can emotionally, physically and spiritually challenging; that they will feel God’s presence as they are accompanied on their journey, we pray:
  • For all impacted by the recent storms, including the ones that made their way through Minnesota; that God will provide comfort for all loss and lead all people to new ways to combat the ongoing climate crisis, we pray:
  • For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers, including, Rosemary Jones, Lou Linteurer, and Tom Diger , May all who suffer be encouraged by the Lord’s coming…we pray
  • For those who have died, especially Marilyn Mangan mother of Denise Jones and for those grieving the passing of a loved one, we pray:

Presider:

Gracious God, you visit your people in so many ways. Hear these our prayers for our needs as we announce your nearness to all those we meet. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
