Prayers of the Faithful December 4 & 5, 2021
Presider:
Hearing God’s call to salvation, we ask God now for the help we need to respond
faithfully.
Lector:
- For the Church: that we may make ready a way for the Lord and make a straight path for God in our hearts, within our families, and in our workplaces, we pray:
- For the gift of hope: that the Word of God may bring new hope and courage to us so that we may cooperate with God in confronting evil and working to heal the brokenness in the human family, we pray:
- For all those impacted by the school shooting in Oxford, Michigan, that God will welcome the souls of those killed, comfort those mourning their passing, and give peace and healing to all who were harmed, we pray:
- For a leveling of the obstacles in our hearts: that God will remove resentments and prejudices, free us from vices that blind us to God’s presence and dissolve our inability to forgive, we pray:
- For our confirmation students who are on retreat this weekend, that they Holy Spirit help them to prepare the way for the faith journey that awaits them, we pray:
- For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers, including, Leslie Wachendorf. May all who are ill find hope in the Lord’s coming, we pray: *
- For those who have died, especially, Marion Godwin, mother of Barb Soberski and grandmother of Bryce Soberski; Steve Poupore, brother of Paula Eiker; as well as for all those grieving the passing of a loved-one, we pray:
Presider:
Saving God, you are merciful and forgiving. Hear our prayers that we might be faithful in responding to your call to salvation and one day dwell with you in everlasting glory. We ask through Christ our Lord, Amen.
