Prayers of the Faithful – February 21 & 22, 2026
Presider:
Trusting in the mercy of God who calls us out of hiding and into truth, we place our prayers before the Lord.
Reader:
- For the Church, that during this Lenten season she may model humility, repentance, and courageous honesty before the world, we pray to the Lord:
- For leaders of nations, that they may act with integrity and transparency, seeking justice over power and service over self-interest, we pray to the Lord:
- For those burdened by guilt, shame, or regret, that they may experience God’s healing mercy and the freedom that comes from truth, we pray to the Lord:
- For our parish community, that this Lent may help us lower our defenses, deepen our prayer, and grow in trust of God’s love, we pray to the Lord:
- For immigrants and refugees in our Minnesota communities who live with uncertainty or fear, especially those who still feel the need to remain hidden, that they may be protected from harm, treated with dignity, and supported by compassionate hearts and just policies, we pray to the Lord.
- For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers, especially: Mike and Theresa Bergwall, Althea Bardon, Andrew Leair and Matthew Heywood. May they find comfort in the healing touch of God and by the loving care of family and friends,we pray to the Lord.
- Today we pray for our Beloved Dead, including: Willard Hebert, De’Ali Delgado, Karen Fitzpatrick, and Geraldine Dotzler. We also pray for those who have died more recently, may they be forever held in the loving arms of God. we pray to the Lord.
Presider:
Merciful God, you do not turn away from us when we fail but call us back with compassion. Hear these prayers and create in us clean hearts, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
