Prayers of the Faithful – February 24 & 25, 2024

Presider:

Let us pray for all whose faith or trust is challenged by the demands of daily living, and especially for those whose challenges seem insurmountable.

Reader:

  • For the Church: that our truest selves, beloved daughters and sons of God, maybe revealed more and more through our Lenten observances, we pray:
  • For openness: that we may be attentive to God’s voice and never let the blare of busyness, ambition, nor consumerism drown out God’s word to us, we pray:
  • For all who are awaiting transformation: that God’s love will free them and bring to wholeness those with addictions, fears, or who are held unjustly, we pray:
  • For our brothers and sisters in Gris Gris: that we may be filled with care and compassion  and respond with generous hearts, open hands, and a renewed sense of solidarity with all the families and children, we pray:
  • For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers including: Cathy Pike; that they may they find comfort in the healing touch of God and in the loving care of family and friends, we pray:
  • Today we pray for our Beloved Dead, including: Francis Warnemunde, Janice Menning, Grace van Grunsven, Catherine Culhane, Sister Judy Madigan and Marjory Ruble, and for those who have died more recently, especially Febronio Garcia Minchaca, and Joanne Lynch. That mercy and grace surround them, bringing solace to their spirits and a comforting light to guide them home, we pray:

Presider:

Loving God, your divine Son shines with the radiance of your glory. Hear our prayers that one day we might share fully in that same glory. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
