Prayers of the Faithful for August 26 & 27, 2017
Presider:
As a community of believers, let us pray for our needs and those of the whole world.
Lector:
For the church, that we as members always be faithful to our identity as Christ’s Body and our sharing in his saving mission, we pray:
For spiritual leaders: for Pope Francis, for ordained and non-ordained church leaders, and for those who pray faithfully every week together, we pray:
For all who are burdened by life, for the sick and those who care for them and for those who struggle to feed their families: that they may find rest in Christ, renewal of their spirits, and the assistance which they need, we pray:
For healing in cities and neighborhoods: that God will guide leaders in addressing issues of racism, discrimination, and injustice in our communities and open pathways that will lead to reconciliation, we pray:
For peace: that God will inspire world leaders to ease tensions and promote the common good of the human family, we pray:
For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers including, Anthony Theisen, Keith Chapman. May they find comfort in the healing touch of God and by the loving care of family and friends, we pray:
For all who have died, especially Fred McCathey, the brother –in-law of Arlene Ali, Matt Hoscheit the brother of Mary Schaible, May they be forever held in the loving arms of God, we pray:

God of salvation, you call us to be the community of the church. Hear our prayers that as we share now in the identity and mission of Christ we might one day share in his risen life. We ask this in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen.
