Presider:

Let us pray to our heavenly Father for what we need to be holy and perfect:

Reader:

For all Christians who struggle with the challenge of loving one’s enemy, we pray:

For peacemakers, negotiators and all who work to promote peace and reconciliation between warring nation, we pray:

For refugees who are forced to flee their homes and for all whose enemies inflict violence, we pray:

For cooperation in our own land, among ethnic groups, religious organizations, rich and poor, and political parties, we pray:

For families, that all may know the love of parents for children, children for parents, and brothers and sisters for each other, we pray:

For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers, including, Douglas Solberg. May they experience God’s healing touch, we pray:

For those who have died and those grieving the loss of a loved one; may they be held in the loving arms of God, we pray:

Presider:

God of mercy, Jesus has challenged us to live in ways that stretch us beyond where we are. Give us the courage to follow the example of peacemakers who loved their enemies; remind us that all are our brothers and sisters. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
