Prayers of the Faithful for February 19 & 20, 2022
Presider:
Confident in God’s mercy and compassion, let us present our needs to the Lord.
Lector:
- For the Church: that we may be instruments of God’s mercy and kindness by sharing what we have received with others who are hurting, we pray:
- For forgiveness and healing in the Church: that God will heal the wounds that have weakened the Body of Christ and renew our spirits to further the mission of Jesus, we pray:
- For all who have been our enemies, whether politically, economically, or personally: that we may let go of hurts and grudges and seek a new understanding of them, we pray:
- For new eyes and hearts: that the Spirit will help us to recognize those in need as our sisters and brothers and give us the courage to respond to them as friends, we pray:
- For healing of racial and ethnic hatreds: that all people may see the value and dignity of each person as a child of God, we pray:
- For all who have been impacted by bullying; may the words of Jesus guide both perpetrator and victim to healing, mutual respect and an understanding of what it is to “do unto other as you would have them do to you.” We pray:
- For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers. May they be healed by God’s loving touch, including, Ron Brixius, Jerry Simondet, and Mary Dobmeier we pray:
- For those who have died, may they find comfort in the arms of God, we pray:
Presider:
Gracious God, you call us to emulate your way of love. Grant our prayers that we may trust in your grace as we travel this holy way. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
