Prayers of the Faithful for July 8 & 9, 2017

Presider:   Let us pray for all who carry heavy burdens.

Lector:

For the Church: that God will help us take up the yoke of Christ and follow him in speaking the truth lovingly, offering forgiveness to those who wrong us and praying for our enemies, we pray:

For wisdom: that we may recognize God’s action in our lives each new day and trust that God is making all things work for our good, we pray:

For a reverence for the Sabbath: that God will show us how to disengage from our busyness and technology so that our minds and spirits can be refreshed, we pray:

For all who are burdened by life: the sick and those who care for them and those who struggle to feed their families, that they may they find rest in Christ, renewal of their spirits, and the assistance which they need, we pray:

For families who need time for recreation during these summer months, and for those who find it difficult to find the time, we pray:

For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers including Robert Reid, Richard Sexton. May they find comfort in the healing touch of God and by the loving care of family and friends, we pray:

For all who mourn the death of a loved one. May all who have died be forever held in the loving arms of God, we pray:

Presider:

Loving God, we come to you as people who are burdened. Give us the strength and courage to live Jesus’ call, no matter how difficult that may be. We ask this in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen.
