Prayers of the Faithful for November 4 & 5, 2023
Presider: Let us pray to God who sent us the divine Son as teacher and master.
Lector:
- For the Church: that we make God central in our lives and allow our hearts to be formed by Christ our Teacher, we pray:
- For all who exercise authority and leadership: that they may recognize that their authority is entrusted to them for the good of others and never place unreasonable burdens on those whom they serve, we pray:
- For the grace of humility: that we may relate with one another as companions on the journey and strive to compassionately serve the needs of one another, we pray:
- For Peace: that God will bring an end to violence, protect the innocent from harm, and open opportunities for dialogue, we pray:
- For all who are grieving: that God will wipe away their tears and console them with God’s presence, we pray:
- For those who are ill and have asked for our prayers including: Keith Fossum, brother of Kevin Fossum, Peter Herrero, Susie Nelson, Paul Hufnagle, and Joseph Kankovsky Sr., father of Joe Kankovsky. May they find comfort in the healing touch of God and by the loving care of family and friends, we pray:
- For those who have died, especially Dave Lambert, brother of Mary Jo Ruble.
Presider: God our Father, you sent your Son to teach us how to live. Hear our prayers that we may faithfully take up his humble service and one day share in his exaltation. We ask this in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen.
